meagain
What happens at the mixer? I have no clue what this is. Is this where the alcohol is?
j-malotky
Yep... Sort of an informal meet and greet. Just hanging out and having a few drinks. JM
DrWho
The mixer is a time set aside by the forum members as an opportunity to listen to stuff. Usually a few locals will bring speakers and then a lot of people bring all sorts of upstream equipment. After a while the volume gets insane cuz everyone turns the volume up a click with the onset of every new song, but I guess that's ok when you're drunk....It's generally a good time though - lots of socializing and getting to know the face behind the names on the forum. I think the latter is the best part because it totally brings everything into perspective on the forum. There is a pretty big crowd that doesn't drink so if you're not into that scene then it's unlikely that you're gonna feel left out or pressured into anything.
