Congrats, those are definitely classics. Don't see just a whole bunch of those with the orange surrounds. The cabs look very nice, too.

Convince the seller that they must be packed to survive a 5 or 6 foot drop on the corner. UPS and FedUP have trained specialists who will insure the packing job is tested thusly.

Those sweethearts are easy to ding on the corners.

UPS insurance standards require...for heavy items,,,,double boxing with foam sheets between box one and box two.

boxes must be new.

used boxes with void fedex and UPS insurance.

Note: Fragile objects -- such as electronics, glass, ceramics, and artwork -- require special packaging for safe shipment. Packages containing these and similar items may require added cushioning or a double box.

There have been too many post on fourms where folks paid for insurance and damges were not covered because the seller used a reused box....differnt than a resuded box in adequate condition.

I make all sellers of heavey high dollar value items double box, with foan sheets between box one and box two.

You can roll the dice and take your chances with single boxes, newspaper, bubble wrap,,pellets, etc.

  • 2 weeks later...

When I set them up they will be used only for 2ch. I'm still going to use my RB-5ll for the rest. I am going to (temp) set the 5's on the Heresy's whitch will be a drop of 5 inches from the stands sort of tight on room. I've already talked to Bob about X-overs and checking the drives. So I guess I am going to have to get a speaker select box??

Good things come to those who wait..................or so they say !!!!!! You'll be happy, give them time, don't judge them too quickly......

You are right about about time, becuase I have worked on the RB-5ll's to get the pretty darn good IMOP. But I just couldn't help myself I had to try Heritage. My problem is with this hobby I go in head first with know where close to listen to Heritage. Most of my friends see the stickers,T's and muggs they thinks a German curse word or something.[:@]

It is difficult to find a good place to listen to Heritage...almost anywhere....well except maybe Indianapolis or Hope[;)]

Seriously, the ability to audition Heritage speakers was one of the topics mentioned at the Town Hall meeting at the Pilgrimage.

Give the Heresy's a whirl....I think you are going to be well pleased.[:D]

Look great; need to check the woofers when they arrive; remove the back panel screws, and make sure they are Klipsch (picture looks like a re-cone/surround foam replacement job) and not Cerwin Vega..... Otherwise, they should sound just fine. When you put the panel back on, lay in a 1/4" thick by 3/8" wide foam "speaker" gasket (partsexpress) to make sure they seal correctly, and get up with BEC on caps for the crossovers, otherwise they should work really good!!

Those woofers have been on my mind since I bought them, I just hope there Klipsch. I will try the foam and I have been talking with BEC, he is going to make me some new crossovers.

congrats, but next time shop a bit closer to home. I'm going to hate reading your horror story should these not arrive safely.

fingers crossed. [:S]

solid slabs of 2" dense foam are the ONLY packing method that should be utilized. These babies are travelling cross country.

Your right about this and if something does happen (knock on wood) I'll be kicking myself in the butt for a while. Spur of the moment sometimes can be my worst enemy. I'm holding my breath on this one.
