jrmeyer
I have a BIC America DV52di center speaker -- retails for about$120 and sells new for as low as $70. I just saw a Klipsch center speaker at Best Buy. It was about the same size as mine, but about priced at about $350 and I'm thinking about getting it. Does anyone know if I going to hear a noticeable difference in sound?
bigpants_ku
Your best bet is going to be an in-home demo. What Iwould do is get the Klipsch, and take it home and listen to a fewthings with both speakers, and then you'll know. If you can'tappreciate the difference enough to justify the price, then take itback to Big Box. They should have a 30 day return policy- justtell them you took care of it, but you didn't get the sound you werelooking for, etc.
theplummer
What left and right mains are you using? If they're not Klipsch, don't bother buyin the center, Unless your ready to replace your mains too. That Klipsch will make you hate your mains.
jrmeyer
The left and right are Klipsch Synergy B2.
Moderators dtel's wife Posted July 16, 2007 Moderators Share Posted July 16, 2007 You should notice a considerable difference in sound....just be prepared because you will probably start looking to upgrade those Synergy speakers if you haven't already started the process!!!![] What center speaker is it you are interested in? oldtimer
You'll notice a big difference in overal smoothness and cohesiveness of the soundstage if you get a Klipch center that matches the same line as your mains. Get the best one in that line you can.
mysterymeat
the only center BB carries is the RC-52 at $300. Both BB & CC have those amazing 30 day return policies. hang onto the receipt. Since they have such a generous plan, out of courtesy, one should keep original packing and inserts to return with the merchandise. Make certain your amp/receiver is set up to fully utilize the center channel. as klipsch claims, 60% of the sound comes out of the center channel. I tried to get an RC-62 from BB with my package purchase(also RS-52's), but if they ain't in the computer, they can't sell them.
jacksonbart
Buy two Khorns for left and right and a Belle for the center channel.
jrmeyer
I'm thinking at least the RC-52 -- but possibly the RC-62.
