ajcllc
I currently own a Dual 1219 and am considering a new cartridge...thinking about getting a Shure M97xE. Does anyone have any recommendations in my $75 price range that I should consider?
oldtimer
How much research have you done? try www.needledoctor.com for ideas, there are other sites that are good too but this one has very good service if not the very best prices. Basically, shop around, and others will no doubt give good advice here too.
Islander
I've been using a Shure M97xE for a couple of years and I'm very happy with it. The Absolute Sound reviewed it in their Ultimate Analog Issue (June/July 2007) and found it pleasant to listen to and very smooth, even with recordings that aren't really great. It also tracks very well.
Audio Flynn
You cannot go wrong with the Shure or Grado red or Grado blue near your price point.
Mike Lindsey
$58.70 was the best price I could find on it. I remember Amazon selling it for $59 and change last year but they are back to retail ($140) now. http://www.proaudiosuperstore.com/Shure-M97xE.html Here's a page I found on the cartridge as well. http://www.arcticcorsair.f9.co.uk/audio/kit/shure-m97xe.html Mike
