JohnA
I just got a WT3 and tested a square magnet K-22-E and got: * Manufacturer: "Klipsch" * Model: K-22-E * Piston Diameter = 242.9 mm* f(s)= 36.34 Hz* R(e)= 7.54 Ohms* Z(max)= 90.23 Ohms* Q(ms)= 4.460* Q(es)= 0.407* Q(ts)= 0.373* V(as)= 93.620 liters (3.306 cubic feet)* L(e)= 2.54 mH* n(0)= 1.05 %* SPL= 92.32 1W/1m* M(ms)= 61.77 grams* C(ms)= 0.31 mm/N* BL= 16.17 Does this look close? I can verifythe Re. I'd expected the SPL to be 94 dB. How does Klipschget a 96 dB rating with a 92 dB woofer?
j-malotky
Hey John I always thought it was caused by the intensional undersized air volume in the sealed Heresy box. Didn't PWK do that to forced the K22 to perform better in the upper bass. To better match the HF. JM
longdrive03
THe KP-22-E 12" woofers I recetly tested and used in a Heresy clone show 33.7fs, .3259 qts, .3498 qes, vas 192.66l (6.8cf) and 94.9914 tested on WT2. They match well with the mid horn on the -9db tap on the autoformer. The KP-22-E has a round magnet but sounds great.
djk
From a 20 year old memory, I remember an Fs=33hz, Qts=.34, Vas=5.5 cu ft, and 95dB/2.83V. Most of mine were probably from the early to mid 80s.
