kde
After waiting too long to make this decision, I ended up purchasing the BlueRay player (S300). Check to see if your company has a CyberScholar deal with Sony -- picked up the unit for $260 delivered (new in box)

mas
ah yes.... the 3000$ playstation 3... I remember that. Hey! That's nor fair! They have dropped at least $2-300 since then!!! [] I suspect more would buy them if they weren't so busy playing their Nintendo Wii...
dougdrake
You guys that got them ...... Model Number please .... AND ... they play Regular DVD's just fine, with better sound than regular ones ????? I got one - it's the A2 model. Plays regular DVD's just fine (as does my PS3). I can't say that the sound is better on that unit than what comes off my regular DVD player - I just didn't notice any difference. However, the upconverting it does to 720P is fine for my projector. wuzzzer
Toshiba HD-A2 owner here. I don't know if its the player or the disc itself but I know that the Eagles Farewell Tour on HD-DVD sounds much, much better than the standard DVD did and I'm in two channel mode using the player's L+R analog outs.
