Beatjunky
My speakers have the oil walnut finish and I was curious to know people's past experiences with oiling the finish. Any suggestions on type of oil, # of coats, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Take care and happy new year.
edwardre
I use a generous coating of Watco perhaps twice a year on mine. Absolutely nothing else needed. ------------------ Ed
Randy Bey
I use the lemon furniture oil available at our local supermarket. I apply it once or twice a month. It looks really neat and shiny for about an hour, then it all soaks in. By now the wood must be saturated with the stuff
NastyHabits
Watco. Applied according to the directions. Been using it on my Heresy speakers since I bought them years ago. Are the a nice looking as the day I bought them? No. But that's not the Watco's fault.
Allan Songer
I have used "Gun Stock Oil" on my walnut Cornwalls and have been VERY happy with the results. Herman Miller uses the same finish on their high-end modern furniture (Eames, George Nelson, etc.) and that's where I got the idea. I rub some on every couple of years and finish up with some "Gun Stock Wax" a few days after the application of the oil. This stuff is dirt cheap and you can get it at most sporting goods or "outdoorsman" stores.
Beatjunky
Anyone ever used something called Tung Oil? Saw some of this next to some linseed oil and was wondering which might be better for the wood? Thanks for any response.
