Canadian_Dude
I wonder what the weight would be on that big guy?
LarryC
wikipedia says: The intent of IMAX is to dramatically increase the resolution of the image by using much larger film stock at a resolution comparable to about 10000 x 7000 pixels. Just curious -- can that be translated into "lines of resolution" like 720 and 1080?
Jay481985
well since 4:3 is 480 X480 widescreen I believe is 1280X720 which is where the 720 hdtv comes from the 1920X1080 is where the 1080 comes from so its most likely 7000p
Jay481985
also hte 10000X7000 looks to be the older 4:3 ratio tv aspect and not widescreen.

So does pixels equal "lines", since 720 and 1080 in TV-speak are called "lines of resolution"?
klipsch4life
I saw a 120" flat panel last year at CES and I thought that was HUGE... This thing is gigantic!

I mean you multiply them and you get the megapixels for cameras. 1920*1080 = 2,073,600 pixels or about a 2 megapixel picture which is what the 1080p falls under imax would be eqivalent to a 70 megapixel picture then.... which seems right.
