laneza01
I had one of those installed a while ago, didnt really like it tho so I stuck with my RF-83's instead... really tho, wouldnt all those amps make that room hot?
Professor.Ham.Slap
Did anyone else notice that a lot of the amplifiers were directly in front of the speaker's path of sound? Wouldn't that negatively effect the quality of sound output? I mean, sure maybe not to the degree we'd really care about, but for someone who sank $5 million into a system.... This is a first class case of something looking way better than it sounds. I noticed the amp location too. You can get a "microphone" effect from pentode amps that really muddies the sound and raises the sound floor to an awefull level. You can get away with it somewhat with really efficint speakers but with this system, I would bet his $6Mill that this is an issue. Also, McIntoshes can almost put out too much light for a dark HT. Even in my HT, If I listen to music in the dark, I can see a green glow on my screen from my one lighted 2105. Part of why I run 250's in my HT. Mr. RF62
Just blows my mind WHY anyone wants sound above 20kHz. I don't care if my dog or cat watches or hears the movie, they prolly are listening to something else anyway, or trying to walk what with the effects of the subwoofer. 100kHz...yeesh. michael hurd
Interesting comb filtering going on there with 3 centers. Certainly not what I would put together that is for sure.

dkp
Is anything even plugged in? If it is, I'm not sure how he did it, unless the wires are all run through the floor (which is possible) but I don't even see wires running to some of the speakers? Just me? On the right-front-top speaker that is mounted upside down you can see the red and black connections but no wires running to them. It looks cool in the pic, I can't imagine what it looks like being in the room.
kevinmi
I was going to put one of those setups in my basement, but then I remembered I don't have a basement.
Me Loves Khorns
I was looking at the pics there. I noticed he is using the same calbe box as i am.... Everything else, a little bit different than my set up... O well, mine sure sounds SWEET!!!! I also like the look on his wife's face. His arm around her tightly. See, Honey, this was a good idea. She is thinking of the really sweet jewelry she could have had... Paul
tagger
Nothing is hooked up. I'm sure the amps are in front of the speakers only for photo journalism, and are hidden elsewhere when actually in use. It just looks better that way for the pictures.
