consistent
Hi All, I have built a couple of tractrix horns for K55's. The most recent I had decided to play with its dimensions. I am no math wizard nor a student of horn dimensions but I can follow a plan. The most recent horn I followed more closely ALK's tractrix plans/equations but I extended the throat from the point of the mouth of the K55 (if that makes sense). The length of the horn from the point of the mouth of the K55 to its end is approx 15.5" but has a 2"L x 1" W (circular) aperture leading into 13.5" of the traxtrix out to 18" wide by 7 3/16" high (opening only). With some experimetation around +/- 1" I have discovered to my amazement that this traxtrix with the longer throat is superior in that it delivers greater clarity and presentation of instruments and artists across the soundstage. It intergrates very well with the Crites tweeter. I have done no measurements but just used my ears based on my broad tastes in music and the 'live punchiness' I enjoy. What have I done? Any one help with the math? Cheers
