5.8 GHz A/V Transmitter & Receivers

I need some good input on a I thought would be an easy problem but finding it to be challanging. I need to transmit a A/V signal a short distance in my attached garage. I tried a 2.4 GHz Radio Shack A/V transmitter/sender and at times has big time interferance via wireless phones, internet, and microwave ovens. Does anyone offer a reasonable priced A/V system that works in the 5.8GHz range? I have seen the RF Link AVS-5811 ( 5.8GHz) and read many problem with this model as far as failing shortly after put in to service and performance issues. I did many internet searches and have seen nothing but RF Link being offered. Are there any other systems to send two audio (L&R) and one video signal at 5.8GHz? Thanks in advance, AL.

Now getting in the range of terrestrial MBell, point to point links, as well as slice of C-Band satellite, extraterrestrial uplinks. Parts can be had but, I know of no canned "out of the box solution. But to be fair, I have not been following that technology lately. Certainly can be done! Interference issues sometimes, depending upon location can cause out of band/in band interference, or TI! Have you tried sheilding/blocking/isolating? What about the RF Link service dept. Surely they are aware of problem!

Sorry but this may prove interesting/challenging for home use products, as this product I see now is having problems:

I have used these with some success: http://www.smarthome.com/8210.html

And then there is this, which I used back in ther 80's. It was banned ? by the FCC and unavailable, but is tamer ?now. & I suppose is cool:

And ultimately, a little more $: http://www.infinetwireless.com/products-technologies/skyman-ng-system/skyman-ng-subsystems/infiman

How much money do you want to spend, or are willing to spend? Can you run a single cable betwen the locations? I can post links tomorrow of devices to send stereo and video over signle Cat5 network cable, much rather than you would probably have in your home. A small box on each end.

These guys have little boxes to use cat4 cable to extend audio and video (various video topologies, i.e., composite, y/c, component) 150 feet plus.

Bruce, thanks for your follow up! As far as $$$$, some thing reasonable under $200.00. I have seen the devices boost the signal for A/V cable going over 100 feet. I thought about going that route but blowing anothe hole in a concrete block foundation in some thing I'm trying to avoid. The signal only needs to go 30 feet, AL.

I don't understand the 2.4/5.8 thing. The 2.4 was suppose to be one of the clearest signals then I find microwave ovens, cell phones, wireless computer transmissions interfear with the signal at 2.4. Why is there only one manufacturer marketing a 5.8 model (Terk)? Is a 5.8 a better option? Is there less on this wave length? Many questions I know but this is not my area of expertise, AL.
