Dflip
When I was at the McIntosh factory two summers ago as part of an AudioKarma tour they were making glass faceplates. When they have enough orders, they fire up the silk screen machine and make multiple passes across the glass, Each layer has to dry before a new layer and be printed. Before I saw it, I would have thought it was an easy process and wondered why they didn't have hundreds in stock ready for everyone, well they don't. It's a time consuming, labour intensive process, and that's why it costs what it does. Mind you they could do what many manufacturers do, We don't make that model anymore, go check Ebay. [] Ron was a wonderful host on the trip.
