HudsonValleyNoah
Hi guys, I am running a McIntosh C-11 pre amp and I am finding the output to be a little dark sounding. I have a quad of Bugle Boys that I know should brighten things up but where to put them? So I need to know which 12ax7s control what! V1, V2, V3, V4, V5 or V6? I am not now listening to vinyl, I am listening to my MR-74 tuner on tuner 2 and a CD player on AUX. Can anyone help me? Noah
www.records
You can download the owners and service manuals at Berners site for your C-11. http://www.berners.ch/McIntosh/en/McHome.htm

mikebse2a3
Thanks Noah Also I hope you use the tone controls when needed. McIntosh(C11 and C22) and Marantz(7C) did a very good job with them and they are definitly helpfull with some less than ideal recordings. mike tn[]

The C-11 has breathed new life into it and yes, I have the HF tone controls at 3/4 instead of flat 1/2. Just what was needed; A C-11 with Bugle Boys to goose an old MC-240. It sounds like Terry DeWick did a really nice job on these two. Noah
mikebse2a3
Hey Noah C-11 and MC-240 now that's a very nice combination in my book! Actually out of the MC-30, MC-60, MC-225, MC-240 and MC-275 McIntosh Amps my favorites are the MC-240 and MC-275 on Klipschorns. Hope you enjoy them for a long time! mike tn[]
fenderbender
Looks like you got your answer but I was going to suggest talking to Dewick........ That should be an awesome combo!!! with the BB tubes.....I would like to find 5 for my AU-111 remake but I may go with telefunkens... Mikebse2a3....I agree...wish I still had my 275 for my newly acquired Khorns.........I'll pick up another when the time/price is right
