johrio
Hi y'all. I'm new to the Klipsch world. I just bought 2 Heresy A speakers,Type HWO with serial #14N806. I got them for $50 at a rummage sale a senior citizens group was holding. I gather from the posts I've been reading here that I got a good deal. I would like to learn more about them, and how to get the best sound from them. When were they made? What did they sell for back then, and what is the fair market value now? Where should I set them up? Were they designed to be on the floor, or what height off the floor is ideal. Where is the ideal location in reference to the corners of the room? I'm just looking for general guidelines here, although I really appreciate the very specific and precise advice given by the engineering oriented posters on this site. I will be back for specific advise when I decide which room they are going in. For now I'll let my ears be my guide, but any hints and suggestions that will save me time in my experimetation will be appreciated. Thanks! ShapeShifter
Congrats on a great find! The "N" in your serial number translates to model year 1975. The specifications and pricing info can be found by going to the Home Page, select Home Audio on the menu and click on Classic. Then scroll down and select Heresy. From Main Forum page do a search from the on "Heresy Mods or Heresy Modifications", you'll find buckets of information on mods performed on Heresies. You may want to live with them for a while before performing any mods. Enjoy your speakers. fini
You know, for the price you got these, you could be accused of elder abuse... My advice would be to go back to the rummage sale and give the folks another $250. They'll be thrilled, you will have still gotten a bargain, and, darn it, you'll just feel better. fini This message has been edited by fini on 01-26-2002 at 07:00 PM
