kg4guy
What is the general rule for wire from your crossovers to the driver as far as the gauge?
wuzzzer
Inside my Forte IIs it looks like the factory wiring is 18 gauge or so, its very thin.
colterphoto1
18 is fine, some here would use 16. it's a very short distance so it doesn't matter that much. My MWM beasts have 18 gauge and they handle 1600 watts. M
Groomlakearea51
You can use pretty much any gauge. I used to use the original wires on Heritage rebuilds but generally over time the insulation was becoming brittle, etc. I now use new, 13 gauge, rubber cased/insulated Dayton Professional speaker wire (comes on spools) for both speaker wires and for the internals. The wire casing is thick, but flexible, and the wires are red/black which eliminates "mistakes". In my case it's a matter of having a single type of thick gauge wire suitable for speaker to amp and driver/ crossover connections that is reliable and easy for me to use. One advantage to that type of wire is that there is very little oxidation on the unexposed wires inside their respective sheaths. Just an "IMHO" for you.
