melodic Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 What is the ideal way to connect the mono subwoofer out on my Yamaha receiver to the RW-10d which seems to have stereo inputs? Do I need to get a Y-cable? or can i just get a mono to mono and go just into the Left input of sub? Thanks. Anthony Quote
Moderators Youthman Posted November 11, 2008 Moderators Posted November 11, 2008 That never made sense to me either. I use a "Y" with mine. Should work either way since it is only a mono signal. Quote
TNRabbit Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 no need; if you read the directions, I'm pretty certain you'll find it sums everything into one channel anyway. Usually, the right channel is the one you use if you only have one input...but like I said, they all sum it into one channel anyway. Quote
melodic Posted November 11, 2008 Author Posted November 11, 2008 Okay thanks, I'll have a look in the manual. Weird, I always thought Left was the convention for mono connections. Quote
Islander Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Just plug in to the left connection (or right, it doesn't make much difference). If you get a Y-connector and plug into both inputs, the sub level will be increased by 6 dB, which is rarely needed. Quote
