The new U.S. BIG3 Bailout Plan

Congress: “OK, we’ll give you the 25 billion dollars. In fact, we’ll do better. We’ll give you twice that amount, 50 billion dollars. Yes, you heard that right ~ GIVE you 50 billion dollars”.

Mulally, Wagoner and Nardelli turn and look at each with surprise, amazement, and joy. They are so excited and happy they stand up, clapping their hands and jumping around the Senate floor in a circle holding hands together.

Suddenly Wagoner stops, and with a puzzled look on his face says “You’re really going to give us 50 billion dollars?”

Congress: “Well no, we’re not going to give YOU gentlemen 50 billion dollars, we’re going to give it to the companies you work for”.

Mulally, Wagoner and Nardelli once again turn and look at each other, this time a little confused, although Mulally stands there with a silly smile on his face, his hands clasped almost as if in prayer, Nardelli looks at the Senator and asks “We still get some of it don’t we”?

Senator: “Well, no, not exactly”.

Wagoner: “What do you mean not exactly”? (Mulally still smiling, hands clasped)

Senator “Well there is one stipulation, two actually. You, all of your top management, and board of directors..................”

All of a sudden Mulally’s expression changes to mild panic. “We’re not going to have to give up our jobs are we”? Nardelli excitedly follows up “Yeah, I just got this job last year”.

Senator: “First, what we are going to do is require that all of you to resign your posts at your respective companies, but don’t worry, we have new ones for you. In exchange for exclusive long term military protection and all the Ford, GM and Chrysler products they want, the Saudi’s have to agreed to take all of you on to run their oil businesses. The way we figure it, the price of oil should be down to 25 cents a barrel in no time”!!!
