I really appreciate your workup. I just did this myself. I have a Denon AVR-X4400h driving my home theater. I purchased an open box crown 1002 xls amp for a good price. As soon as I plugged in the amp(still powered off) I am getting slight electrical) noise on all my speakers. I set the crown to y mode using sub 2 out on the denon (LFE) no crossover setting 1 and 2 on the crown (no sound from subs powered on). I'm guessing maybe I got a bad amp :(? Anyone have any ideas?

Nm, figured it out disconnected hdmi on the TV was causing the induced hum. Lol Everything is working great!!! 5.3.4 Definitely upped my bass game. Thanks for everyone's contributions.

you fixed your own issue , great

Glad to see folks are still getting some utility from this thread years later!  Still getting excellent daily performance from my modified KSP's.
