  1. Thanks for taking the time to do the testing and share it with us here. I went thru the same thing when I picked up a pair of Chorus lls and Fortes. I put them against my RF-7s and at first I thought I liked the Chorus ll better but after a lot more testing my friend and I still prefer the RF-7 over all. I have not personally heard the RF-83s myself but the guy I bought my Chorus lls from had RF-83s and he sold them. He said the Chorus lls sounded better to him. I love the Chorus ll, Forte and RF-7 and they all have a place in my house lol. I'd like to hear the RF-83 someday as well as the KLF-30.
  2. Yes and Yes. I have a Sony Bluray s500 that was $600 when it first came out. I have done side by side comparisons between the ERC1 and the Sony and it's very noticeable. The ERC-1 is no joke and a staight up stud at it's price point.
  3. No need to spend $1000 IMO, I went with this and havent looked back. http://emotiva.com/erc1.shtm
  4. It's very simple... like Cut-Throat said, get your router up and your network and password rdy and it's very simple after that. Once you get the Touch connected this is the webpage to go to. http://www.mysqueezebox.com/index/Home Go the App Gallery and start downloading and installing all the apps. Some things you need to sign up for but it's all easy to follow and then you're off and running!
  5. UPS just dropped mine off today at about 4pm. This thing is awesome! The amount of music at your finger tips is amazing! The sound is very nice. I am waiting on an XDA-1 from Emotiva that should really make it sound awesome!
  6. Shouldnt compare it to the Z06. Let's compare it to the 110k ZR1 Corvette. The ZR1 is more than 100k cheaper than the Ferrari but it will walk off and leave it! As a matter of fact the ZR1 is one of the fastest cars on the planet and for 110k it's the deal of the century! So the Klipsch Jube is like the ZR1, the true giant killer. []
  7. I run an XPA-2 and it is all you need for any of the big Klipsch speakers. It's a clean 300+ watts per channel.
  8. I have Forte's, Chorus ll's and RF-7's. The Chorus ll does some things better and the RF-7 does some things better. If I had to pick one pair I think I'd have to keep the RF-7s. They just handle more types of music and they can out rock the Chorus ll if you ask them to. The Chorus ll breaks up at extreme volume. The RF-7 will just keep going. While the Chorus ll has the edge on classic rock and music like that at moderate volume, the RF-7 has an even bigger edge on dance, hip hop, pop and heavy metal. The RF-7 can crank to insane volume levels and never break up or become shrill like the Chorus ll will. This is just my opinion of course, sound is very subjective and only your ears can be the judge. That being said, I have no doubt that the Forte or Forte ll will KILL the RF-82. There is a huge difference between the RF-82 and the RF-7 but there isn't a huge difference between the Forte and Chorus.
  9. Welcome! It's a nice system you're starting out with, you'll enjoy it!
  10. I just spent a lot of money on Focals for my Dodge. I was checking out the tweeters in these and they are partially horn loaded. That got me thinking, why isnt Klipsch tapping this market? I'd bet most of the people on these forums would put their speakers in their car if they were available. If they can make computer speakers they can easily make car speakers. I want the sound of 2-4 Chorus ll's in my truck, make it happen Klipsch! [H]
  11. I dont know where you live but here is a really nice black pair of RF-7s on Audiogon in Folsom, California for $800. If they were in Houston I would buy them right now! My friend and I need a pair so we can split it and both have an RF-7 center. ; ) http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?spkrfull&1290052164&/Klipsch-RF-7-speakers
  12. I bought a pair of Forte's this weekend and when I got to the guys house he said he was switching to Belles. After unhooking the Forte's he brought two new speakers up from the garage. I asked him what they were "thinking they would hold him off til the Belles arrived" and he said Belles. I almost laughed... they were tiny little Klipsch speakers. I spun one around and it was an RF-15. I told him these arent Belles, Belles are huge Heritage speakers and he said no, no, no, all the new Klipsch speakers are small, these are Belles. I just smiled, handed him the money for the Forte's and left, lmao. On another note, these Forte's are very nice sounding speakers. They surprised me with their sound! Very well balanced, nice solid bass, just an all around great speaker! Now I want to find some Forte ll's!
  13. I think 800 is a steal, 900 is a great deal and a fair price is 1000-1200. I wouldnt pay 1700 for a used pair of RF-7s.
  14. I can't help but think something is wrong with the speakers. When you say they don't sound full, I just can't imagine the Chorus with it's 15" woofer sounding anything but full. These things thump - they have crystal clear highs and mids with a serious kick. I bet it's a x-over issue.
  15. I have to disagree, RF-7s make the best surrounds for RF-7s! [H] I do think the RB-75's are awesome speakers and they should start making them again. I just picked up a pair of Forte's last night, very nice speaker! These things surprised me!
  16. I will have to go with the Forte l and ll and Chorus l and ll as the best bang for the buck Klipsch speakers. Best value just might be the Jubilee, can't wait to hear them and place my order!
  17. I have not heard the Chorus ll with Onkyo but with my Harman Kardon as a pre and my Emotiva XPA-2 as the amp they sound awesome.
  18. I run RF-7s all the way around and love them as surrounds. When I play blu-ray concerts it's quite an experience! [H]
  19. Thats funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6iLe6RV9EE "Wildwood Weed" (As recorded by Jim Stafford) JIM STAFFORD DON BOWMAN Wildwood flower grew wild on the farm And we never knowed what it was called Some said it was a flower and some said it was a weed I didn't give it much thought One day I was out there talkin' to my brother And I reached down for a weed to chew on Things got fuzzy and things got blurry And then ev'rything was gone Didn't know what happened but I knew it beat the hell Out of sniffing burlap I come to and my brother was there and he said, "What's wrong with your eyes?" I said "I don't know, I was chewin' on the weed" He said, "Let me give it a try" We spent the rest of that day and most of that night tryin' To find my brother Bill Caught up with him about six o'clock the next mornin' Naked, singing on the windmill He said he flew up there I had to fly up and get him down He was about half crazy The very next day we picked a bunch of them weeds And put 'em in the sun to dry Then we mashed 'em up and we cleaned 'em off Put 'em in the corn cob pot Smokin' them wildwood flowers got to be a habit We never seen no harm We thought it was kind-a handy Take a trip and never leave the farm Big 'ole puff of that wildwood weed next thing you know You're just wand'ring 'round behind the little animals All good things got to come to an end It's the same with the wildwood weeds One day this feller from Washington come by And spied one and turned white as a sheet And they dug and they burned And they burned and they dug and they killed All our cute little weeds and then they drove away We just smiled and waved sittin' ther on that sack o' seeds "Y'all come back now, y'hear!" © Copyright 1974 by Famous Music Corporation, Ensign Music Corporation and Parody Publishing Co. Lmao! Good one... []
  20. Are the RF-7's bi-amped or are they straight off the XPA-2's? How much of the XPA-2's power have you feed into the RF-7's? I do not have the RF-7s bi-amped, I have the jumpers still on them. I am going to assume I've fed every ounce of power the XPA-2 has into the RF-7s. I have had the woofer bottom out from either too much power or the XPA-2 clipping lol. I try to ride right along that thresh hold right before it distorts or bottoms out when I'm showing them off. With the right recording and material both the RF-7 and Chorus ll are amazing at super high SPLs. I think I've caused a little hearing loss over the years of owning these speakers. It's like owning a fast car, it's hard to keep your foot out of it!
  21. I will demo a movie soon and let you know. I think it will be hard to beat the RF-7 in the home theater realm though.
  22. Yes, the Chorus ll sounds better than the RF-7s with most music. I would say 85% of the time we prefer the Chorus ll but every now and then the RF-7 shines. I won't ever sell either of them if I can help it! They are both awesome speakers and the RF-7 has been my baby for over 7 years!
  23. A great shoot out to see............or hear. Last night my buddy was over and the RF-7s blew us away! I just got Slash's new CD which is awesome btw! Everyone shoud pick this thing up, lot's of talent on this CD. He brought in different singers for every song and it's a nice mix of music. So we're switching back and forth and on song 3 with Fergie singing, the RF-7s just kicked us in the teeth. So I cranked it way up, like 5 on the HK "with the XPA-2 which is 300+ watts a channel" and the RF-7s were just BREATHING, I don't know if I've ever heard them sound this good. So we started the song over and switched to the Chorus lls and they werent even close. They started sounding shrill, the bass was sloppy, it just sounded like too much was going on. So that's another one for the RF-7s! The Chorus ll wins 85% of these shoot outs so it's pretty exciting when the RF-7 wins one. []
  24. Here is where I have been having nightly shoot outs between my RF-7s and Chorus lls! " mce_src="" alt="" border="" hspace="" vspace="" width="" height="" align="" />
