  1. I was in High school at the time. If you younger folks have not seen the movie...please do. There are some fantastic performances. I didnt go to Woodstock but did attend Altimont..Hells Angels and Knifing and all that .. But I did see the Burrito Bros! Josh
  2. I was talking to Chris King today and we agreed that the customer service people at FedEx are taught to say " sorry there is nothing we can do about that" I think that they spend days in a classroom repeating this mantra rather than learn how to solve peoples issues. Having said that I agree with Craig they all suck. Josh
  3. Off the top..a few I have been spinning lately Joe Cocker Feelin Alright Youngbloods Elephant Mountain Arlo Guthrie Amigo Jefferson Airplane Surrealistic Pillow

After messing up like that they ought to ship it overnight free and kiss your butt too. ---------------- The latest from fedex..I spoke with a person in their tracing dept who still insisted that the package was to be delivered to ferndale. after I filled her in on the actual details ( i cant believe that it wasnt in some sort of record on her screen! ) she said the the package was back in Arcata. I asked to speak with her supervisor who was equally moronic. She told me that the package had left Arcata and that the earliest it could be delivered was Monday. I told her that I am very familiar with the truck schedules in and out of Arcata and that the truck would not leave until this evening. Net net the peach is being sent overnight with a Saturday delivery. Well see! Josh
  5. Well fedex has decided to move my new Peach up and down the California coast rather than deliver it to me! Its heading back to Eureka tonight for the third time. Whats most frustrating is that I contacted them early on when the tracking seemed haywire and alerted them to the problem. They claimed to have it solved. I knew that wasnt the case when I received an email from Mark saying that he had just spoken with them and that it was heading back to him. This was twenty minutes after their tracing service called me and assured me that it would be delivered to me!! It turns out that it will be closer to him. WHAT MORONS! I guess all good things are worth waiting for! josh
  6. oh BTW check out the McIntosh Forum at audioasylum.org Someone there will no doubt have had experience with the folks you mentioned. Also Terry DeWick hangs out there and is quick and low kew with his opinions! Josh
  7. I have used Terry Dewick at Mcintoshaudio.com who was very very reasonable and probably knows as much about macs (both tube and solid state) as anyone. Fast excellent service. He ill not sell you something you dont need. Audio Nector has also been very satisfied with his work. I have also used Audioclassics.com and they to were excellent. They have a reputation of being expensive but I did not find that to be the case. And if its a tube unit I dont think you can go wrong with Craig at NOSvalves. Josh
  8. Check out the sellers other auctions. He has two pair of very nice looking K horns for sale as well! Not to mention some other interesting gear! josh
  9. Buyer beware.. Check out todays Wall Street Journal. Great article on the sophistication of ebay scammers. Kind of scares you. One of the examples was with high end speakers! Josh
  10. Reiterate - USE AUCTION SNIPER (WWW.auctionsniper.com) Bid what you are willing to pay and you can cancel if another better option comes up. Its the only way to go!!! josh
  11. RadioB was the first to PM me with interest in the TT. If it ends up not happening Ill go down the list in order. Thanks Josh
  12. In the spirit of the free stuff movement... Dual 1009 turntable w/walnut base and dust cover. The dustcover is from a BSR. This table works great. perfect for the person who wants to test the vinyl waters. The cartridge is a Shure of some sort. Cabinet for a Fisher 400. I assume it will fit other Fisher gear as well. It is particle Board with veneer that has been painted brown. It was givin to me by someone who knew I had some fisher gear. Reciever pays shipping from 94563 Thanks Josh

  15. Please don't get pissy. No need to dig up the email. I did not mean to intimate or accuse you of anything. I just know that you offered the Belles for sale. That's all. period. zip. nothing more. I wish you well in your purchase. Josh
  16. Flynn, I was not directing my comments to you or anyone in particular. I was just cautioning folks not to take this in a familiar direction. You are right. Its interesting to see what comes up for sale. I am also with you that my best stuff will never be sold. (Never say never but this a bit of hyperbole )I anticipate owning my MAC gear forever. On the other hand, I have sold a fair amount of Cary equipment. For some reason, owning great (I didnt say best even though thats what I think) sounding equipment that I lusted after as a kid is an emotional deal. Josh

  19. I beg of you all-please do not start another SET/PP/Highpower/lowpower/magic/etc/etc thread!!!!!! Please see everything that has been said/discussed/argued/written/wined about/etc/ in the previous post. DO NOT LET THIS INFANTILE BABLE DEVELOP AND CONTINE. (Sorry for yelling) pretty please. Josh
  20. I had not heard the RF 7s before a couple of weeks ago. My Brother in Law, after hearing my Cornwalls, recently purchased a pair. His wife wouldnt allow Cornwalls because of the size and he was concerned with the hassle of finding them and shipping them etc. So even though I had never heard them I suggested that he look at the RF line. He settled on the 7s. I had no idea how big they were!!! I have to say they sounded pretty good - even with so so HT equipment, and not really set up in a listening environment. They definitely had the forward presence that I love about my Klipsch speakers. And although they were very robust across the sound spectrum I did find them a tad harsh compared to my Belles and Cornwallis. I would very much like to hear them in my system in order to make a fair comparison. But I have a feeling they would fit in just right. Anyway something to look forward to!!!! Josh
  21. I agree with your POV only if you are talking original Westinghouse 7591s. The EH 7591s do not have the feel for the ball the the NOS tubes do. I know that some folks find the EHs to be abundant with the power bit I think people that believe that are hacks. To get the correct feel on the shot you need NOS 7591s Josh
  22. "Yes, they would look familiar if you have a garden. Before the show opened we went over the road to the DIY superstore and bought one of those £20 extension leads that Black & Decker sells for electric hedge-cutters. They are made from good, thick copper wire, look nice and sound good to me. The show's been running for three days and no one in the audience has noticed..." - New Scientist Magazine ---------------- That's Great! Feed em through a fancy black sheath and as Mark says put some fancy shrink on them, put them on some little stands and wax poetically about the musicality and transparency! See if you can keep a straight face! Josh
  23. Mark, That looks pretty cool. Having owned the big Advents I never found the high end as pleasing as the smooth low end. Which advents are pictured here? If my memory serves me these look different from the large advents in my mind. Josh
  24. I must love 3rd order whatever because I love my PP. BTW I might like SET as well but I have never heard one. Nontheless I would suggest that with either its not a religion. If you are a tad obsessed with this subject you should consider some sort of therapy. In the great scheme of things this is about as important as which socks to wear. Josh
