  2. Jefferson Airplane "Comin' Back to Me" on vinyl. Opps gotta turn it over! josh
  3. Rosanne Cash "Thats How I Got to Memphis" a duet with her dad on vinyl. She's the BEST! Josh
  4. Oh your talking about stringing a racket not a bow!! Nevermind. Rick ---------------- I thought we were talking about Push Pull amps ! Josh
  5. I use Babolat VS Natural ThermoGut Touch 16 gauge, strung at 62 lbs. Anyone that uses synthetic string is a LOSER and probably listens to push-pull. Regards, Chris ---------------- 16 gauge!!! you must be a hack! ! I wouldnt put 16G in my dogs frame! If you are truly wanting to feeel the magic of the shot you need to use 17 gauge. I use 17 gauge and must admit that I break a string every time I play but that's to be expected if you want to play with any authority. I would recommend that you try the 17 gauge but try not hitting the ball too hard youll love the feel of the touch shots around the net! Josh
  6. Check this out. Pretty pricey but very cool! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5709017165 Josh

So, we're listening to Norah Jones, Lucinda Williams, The Mavericks, Steve Earle and the cd "Return of the Grevious Angel" to get warmed up. Keith Richards is also going to be there. This could be quite a show. Chris ---------------- Sounds like a great show cant wait to hear about it. Caused me to put the Angel on himself! Now listening to Gram Parsons Lost Recordings on vinyl. Him by himself playing his songs on accoustic guitar. great LP. A great talent who died way way to young. Josh
  8. Great Job. Leeroy. I know not to use BLO on the Laquered finishes but what do folks use to "Clean Up" a laquered cornwall. I have a pair of cherry laquered cornwalls that I would like to freshen without refinishing. Thoughts Josh
  9. Chopin Ballade no 4 in F minor Vladimir Ashkenazy SACD
  10. Feelin Allright Joe Cocker on vinyl. Its killer. josh
  11. I have owned three pairs of Cornwalls and never believed that anything would replace them at a cost that I would be willing to pay. I am now listening to a wonderful pair of '75 Belles and they are enchanting. Its amazing how they dont look quite so big in the room now that we have fallen in love with the sound! josh
  12. Warren Zevon "Keep Me in Your Heart" From his last and I do mean last LP "The Wind". BTW its available on vinyl. Josh
  13. I think that the postings on the forum have decreased because for some reason the forum has slowed up. It takes 30 seconds to go from page to page. I had assumed that it had something to do with the administration purging the duplicates and checking alias' etc. I know I have curtailed my viewing because the loading has become so cumbersome. Josh
  14. ---------------- . Has that funky arm which is alters the relationship of the stylus to the grooves as it moves over the record. Very clean in appearance. ---------------- I agree with Jazman on this. I have owned a couple of Garrards and had issues. The description of the arm sounds scary. I wouldnt play my records on something like that! I could certainly be full of it but you know the arms that jazman listed or even the original arms on vintage thorens tables are not going to damage valuable vinyl Josh

IOW, is it just basically just 4 strips of wood with mitred corners? Or is it more involved? Is there a plate on the bottom to provide woofer access? Any chance you could post a pic of the bottom? ---------------- Yes Tom, there is a plate on the bottom to provide access to the woofer. Ill look at the riser when I get home tonight but I believe it is similar to the riser on my cornwalls Josh
  16. Now let's argue about 12" vs. 15". It's an absurd argument. Like Minnn Says - its all about how it sounds. In comparisons like this, I am always interested in how folks think the speakers sound - regardless of price_ Ill make that comparison based on what I can afford and what I think incremental improvements are worth. Regards Josh
  17. Picked up a pair of mid 70s belles today. I am in the process of comparing them to my mid 80s cornwalls. Its a little tough because part of the purchase price was my Cary SLP 88 Pre amp. I am now using the preamp section of my MC 6100 integrated driving a pair of MC 225s. The bass is dynamic and robust. I wonder if its the speakers or the preamp. Ill know more when I get my Peach! Josh
  18. Thanks for the info on the CD. I know I would be happy with the CD but I also know I would but the SACD or Vinyl when it came out. I am just trying to save a few bucks. Having said that I will certainly but the CD! Josh
  19. The Live From Tokyo is pretty much the same show I saw last night. I m hoping for it to be released on SACD or Vinyl. Josh
  20. Joao Gilberto performed in San Francisco last night and what a great show. Gilberto and his guitar for about 90 minutes were sublime. I always considered him an adequate guitarist and a good singer. Live I found him to be a great guitarist but his voice is his instrument. Singing in Portuguese with the exception of one song, he was able to hold the entire audience in complete silence for the entire set. You could hear a pin drop. Very liquid, emotive and moving - even though he could have been singing about driving to the garbage dump for all I knew! josh
  21. Aside from the listing quirks, I have heard examples of those amps and they are spectacular. I have heard them on Avant-garde horns so I cannot respond to PPs assertion regarding the lack of power as they drove the horns to approriate volume. Josh
  22. I tried the link that dean posted but it didnt take me anywhere, so forgive me if this is redundant. Try the Spealunkers from Bizzy Bee Audio. They are pretty foolproof. Also DYI cables sells some very high quality spades that fit perfectly in vintage speaker strips. Josh
  23. I have found that the lower powered Macs are more pleasing to my ears than the higher powered MC 240s or 275s. I absolutely love my 225s which I am running as mono blocks. I rue the day that I sold my MC30s. Probably the only big mistake I have made in buying and selling this stuff! The MC 225s have replaced modern Cary equipment, vintage Scott and Fisher. I love em. Josh
  24. Guy what about the rack for the first system you posted? Did you build it yourself? That is sweet! josh
  25. One from Mr Churchill. A woman, offended by the Prime minister said " if you were my husband I would put poison in your tea" He response was "Madam, if you were my wife I would certainly drink it" josh
