  1. Hey, I have placed my order for my sub :-) so excited RSW-15 baby I have been trying to decide what to plug everything in on my Monster Power HTS3500 What should I plug my Reciever(Denon3803) and my Subwoofer into..... Main Amp Surround Amp Preamp or A/V Reciever(where it is currently) Spare The rest are taken up. I e-mailed Monster Cable about it, but I wanted to ask my favorite klipsch buddys too :-) *updating signature to show the sub and power center
  2. Thanks a lot everyone. I am very new to home theater and spend way way to much time on this forum. :-) But, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a big deal cause I had two dedicated outlets installed for this system. It costs a lot to get outlets installed in this house cause its 100 years old and the outside walls are 3 bricks thick. So the outlets better be fine :-) thanks again for the help, and trust me I enjoy my gear very very much
  3. I just had the outlets installed like couple months ago so they should be good... Thanks ironwoods, the new outlet seems to fluctuate more. i got up this morning and its at 124. Yeah, it seems to fluctuate over like 6 hours it doesn't jump up or down fast at all. But, thanks thats just what I was looking for was weather it would be a problem or not, thanks for the help :-)
  4. I just got a HTS3500 and moved all my plugs in plugged it all up and...... the power centers cord didn't reach the outlet.... Luckily I have two dedicated outlets in this room. But I noticed for some reason my old outlet was giving me about 121 volts, while the new one is only giving me 117. According to the HTS3500. Do you think that it is going to be a big deal should I rearrange all my components and move the power center over. I don't really want to move it because that would put the power center closer to the TV and it has such bright lights on it... I wanted to keep it close to the ground. Thanks for the help
  5. That sucks... I just keep regular digital cable and I get Dolby Digital. Out box is like $5 a month. I hate our cable though :-( damn adelphia
  6. No, all bays work sometimes and all bays quit working sometimes. But it sounds fine, once it starts playing and will work till the end of the cd. Just sometimes doesn't recognize a disc at first and won't play.
  7. I used a chepo cleaning thing I got from wal-mart. One where you put the cd in at it is like skip to track 6 or whatever. Is there a better method of cleaning the lens? If so how hard is it.
  8. I saw the previews for the theater and thought wtf that is horrid But, the previews for the DVD and thought it looked good. Well, I bought it the week it came out and I actually enjoyed it. Not Best movie I have seen but it was good. Connery is the man :-)
  9. It is in my signature Onkyo DXC220 CD Player 6 disk CD player Yeah, I don't know whats wrong with it... :-(
  10. Not sure if this is the right section... probably troubleshooting maybe general... could even go in two channel. But, I talk more in here so I decided to stay in Home Theater Anyways, My CD player will play CD's fine no problems at all. But like I have to put a disk in push CD 2 and sometimes it will recognize it and sometimes it won't. It doesn't matter what CD ir is or what slot number. Sometimes I can even push 2, won't work push 2 again and it will play. This was my mom's CD player and it is kind of old about 5 years. But Still plays fine, do you think I can fix this easily if so how?
  11. I am at school now so I can't go check it. I am almost positive there is no Dolby Digital symbol on the fron of my cable box. I have a Digital Cable box and when I watch certain movies on HBO my reciever auto switches over to Dolby Digital. Does that mean I have DD or not?
  12. I placed an order for my RSW-15 today!!!!!!!!!! Also ordered my HTS3500 :-) -Thanks for help on that griff (I brought the HTS3500 home for a day and one roomate was stunned at the differnce it makes other said he didn't notice), I noticed a lot of differences but I didn't really notice as much when music/movies are going on. But absolutely no hum, and no pop when I shut everything off. Anyways back to cables, the guy I ordered it from said he would just give me a cable for free. So, I am going to bring that home test it out and if I want better, I will PM you.
  13. I am a strong believer of build up slowely. Get the best you can or you will always belike what if I had gotten the 7's instead of the 5's :-) But the 5's are insanely nice speakers too. I got my RF-7s RC-7 and RS-7s for $2850. So if you shop around for a deal you can get good prices. I also had to drive about 5 hours away to get my speakers. The place near me wanted retail which was almost $4000. I drove 5 hours to save a grand :-) It is worth the drive. If you know you want klipsch it is worth the drive, testing and demoing is the biggest issue with having a close dealer, in my opinion. Good Luck and let us know what you end up doing.
  14. Most are true for me :-) That is expected though, im 21....
  15. Thanks, I had some best buy certificates that why I asked. But, the Ultralink sounds nice. Do you just have that specific one or can you sell others. Cause I don't need but like 6 feet now so I was thinking 12-15 feet would be plenty long enough. Also, would the SUBSONIX series be better?
  16. Would the "ZBass100 Audiophile Powered Subwoofer Interconnect" or the "MonsterBass 400 Subwoofer Interconnect" be the best choice for a subwoofer cable for a RSW-15? Is the ZBass actually worth twice as much? also what about the "Monster THX 1000 16' Subwoofer Cable with RCA Connectors " I do not have THX on my reciever or DVD player though, if that makes a difference.
  17. I just recently posted the same question and after much research I eventually Decided that "Digital Video Essentials" was the best choice. I felt Avia was way to old and it didn't do 6.1. I really just couldn't find enough information about Sound and Vision so i didn't get it. Hope this helps some.
  18. I would upgrade the TV I am a college student and play many many x-box games :-) Nothing beats a big TV + surround sound. If you aren't looking at HDTVs I am sure you could get a great deal on a TV and have plenty of money left over. I am int he same situation I have some money and I am getting ready to upgrade my system, I am thinking about a power conditioner, that maybe a possibility for you too. But first get a bigger TV :-)
  19. Thors1982

    6.1 Movie ?

    np, congrats on the speakers
  20. Thors1982

    6.1 Movie ?

Blade 2 is in DTS-ES discrete 6.1 also, all of the Lord of the Rings Special extended DVD's are in DTS-ES discrete 6.1
  21. I hate getting involved in anything like this, but Griff has given me a lot of advice and no offense to him, I always make sure any advice I get on ANY forum including this one is correct. But, for a newb like me I appreciate any help I can get. He doesn't have to be here helping anyone, its not like he is getting paid. Regardless, he has been very helpful to me and I know that I owe him a favor or two :-)
  22. Thanks Griffinator, I should have thought about that, lol :-) Used = BAD! I found a HTS 3500 brand new online for $270. It is off of etronics.com. What is the deal with that? is the warranty bad? Is it safe to buy?
  23. I am looking to buy a power conditioner. I am thinking about the HTS 3500. I hope that it will be sufficient for my system. However I do not want to spend $400. Is there anywhere that sells them for cheaper??? I think e-bay sells them but how bad is it to buy from e-bay cause I know the warranty will no longer be in place. How bad is it to buy a new power conditioner without a warranty? Also, I saw a used HTS 5000 on Audiogon.com for $315. How bad of an idea is it to buy a used power conditioner? I am very new to home theater and until recently didn't even know I needed a power conditioner so any help would be appreciated.
  24. I think some people took what I said wrong. I in no way meant to crack on B&W. That is why I mentioned that the set-up was wrong and configured poorly more than once in 4 sentences :-) I just meant to point out that I might not know a lot about speakers but Klipsch in my opinion was many many levels above what I listened to. Especially, polk, sony, and bose. I never saw a point into spending major amounts of money into a system until I listened to "Whipping Post" by the Allman brothers on two RF-35's. :-) Now look, I am a junior in college and I spend more money on my home theater than I do food and rent combined. Once again, sorry if you thought I was bashing B&W.
  25. I admit I am very new to home theater. But when I went to audition speakers I listened to many speakers lower than what I ended up getting more around the R-35 price range. But, I was blown away at how terrible the B&W sounded. Granted I bet it was because the store didn't have enough power going to them. I couldn't believe it, I didn't even want to listen to an entire song on those speakers. However, the klipsch took me away into a heaven I couldn't find with any other speakers. Reminder I do live in a small town and I didn't test even 10 different name brand of speakers. Also, I know my home theater is set up better than my local store and sadly I don't even have my rears mounted yet, so yes I realize the B&W's were set up wrong. Also, I am so new to home theater I can't tell you if klipsch had better mids, lows, highs, or whatever... But, the klipsch couldn't be matched by anything, period.
