  1. nice review easylistnener i think he is using the h/k as a pre/pro hey damon i know the avr 7200 has some gen. issues. how is your reciever conencted in the amp as a pre/pro? further explain your connections. coz ive read that the avr 7200 have some issues on the 6-8 analog input. give us info on how your set up is connected
  2. ok guys. im just curious about this issue. just an example. if you have a stereo amp rated at atleast 120/wpc continous 4-8 ohms, then you have a 2 pairs of speakers so basically you have 4 speakers all of the same kind. lets say they are rated 75wrms 8 ohms. ok how are you going to connect all of those speakers in a 2 channel amp? is it: for instance, first the 2 left speakers. hooking a speaker wire on the speakers binding post properly on the same phase. then the wire that will be hooked up on the amp should be +(1st left speaker) -(2nd left speaker) wire to a left channel postive clamp of the amp, then the -(1st left speaker) +(2nd left speaker) wire to a left channel negative clamp amp. same with the right speakers to the right channel. is the impedance still going to be the same at 8 ohms? or it will be 4 or 16 ohms? what about the sound quality? is it going to be still the same if volume is in mid? if the connections is incorrect. then what is the proper connection? ty
  3. ty for the replies. i will post another option and this one i think will be some what appropriate. i will post it later after school learning.lol
  4. this is a plan of my upcoming projects, and it is a preliminary plan. all suggestions will be appreciated. this is a plan of the inside walls. no furnitures and shelves etc.. if you do know how to read this then good. post some of your opinions about the sound that would be produced using this plan. i know sound will depend about the materials used and how insulation on the walls will be. lets assume that we have a good, but not expensive materials and a good insulation and sound proofing. lets talk about sound waves. lets say measurements are: 19L. 15W. 8H. measuring at middle. check out the options note: i didnt put the measurements at the plan. i havent scaled the measurements.
  5. hahahaha.. i got 1 this is really funny. anyway. good looking out m00n
  6. i am impressed. WOW!! but.. can some body elaborate more.. about its total harmic distortion. look at the results
  7. they sounded very nice. try to go to a good guys store. i like the way they sounded eventhough they were a "BIT" bright. i tried to comprte other loudspeakers on the demo room(good guys) and nothing compares to the rf7. i am sure the rf7 will shine when hooked up with a warm sounding amp
  8. i was saying that there was no competition. RF 7 do have the sound quality and it is better for my ears. rf 7 wins!! to be exact. i was saying before that a 3 way design to a klipsch reference may be the next level to a klipsch reference and may sound quite near to a heritage line. dont get me wrong. i love how this R speakers sound, and i dont even have the idea to replace them with any speaker in its price range. question now is when will klipsch release a new line of reference speakers? just curious though.
  9. well, the Heritage line are for sure the "big boss" of the klipsch home speakers. i would definitely buy a klipsch 3 way design reference speakers, but if they dont sound nearly as the heritage line. i will stick with the R series. reason i came up with this question is that.. last week i came to good guys store to test the Monitor audios bronze and silver and the energy veritas line. for some reference .. they have rf7 on display. i immediately tested them all and came up that still the rf7 has some precise and quality sound. even though the other speakers were 3 way designs and somewhat in the same price, there was no competition to the rf7. so out of curiosity, there is a possiblilty that a reference 3 way design is a good option to the next level of reference series klipsch. just my opinion. post some facts and opinions you would like to discuss..
  10. lovely as good looking. and precious as great sounding(as you would keep them for a while). thats what i mean. having some background and lived with a 3 way design speakers, i classify them as more accurate, but it depends to the speakers. anyway. put some feedback about klipsch R series having 3 way design. ty m00n for your opinion.
  11. does anyone know when will klipsch release a reference series speakers with a 3 way design? i know there is nothing wrong with a 2 way design, but i think there is a possibility that a 3 way design will be lovely and will sound very precious. does anyone know when will klipsch release their new speakers to replace the legendary R series? well im just curious. anyone with good source and contact with klipsch pls do reply. post some of your opinion/s about klipsch R series having 3 way design. TY
  12. i really like how the h/k avr 7200 produce its sound.for me it produces a warm sound it will match a klipsck r speakers properly. with 100 watts all channles driven. i mean truely 100 watts.. you cant go wrong. yes it has 5 channel stereo. try to wait a month or so and then check onecall.com for their price. you might ask m00n about this. he has avr 7200 in his HT set up.
  13. ---------------- On 9/14/2003 4:09:33 AM marksdad wrote: it is not the rf's it is the sony. i remember the sony's i auditioned, they sounded poor in music, like a boom box ---------------- EXACTLY!! try to go with other recievers and amps. ex. hk avr 7200. or try marantz pm7200 (you need three of these, u can even have a class A amplification out of it)
  14. daredevil is ok. but i didn't enjoy it as much.
  15. you can get the avr 525 for about $643 @ onecall.com shipping already included. i think they are clearing these line for the new ones. check this out http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_10_3/show-report-cedia2003-main.html sorry H/K boys no new 7200. but i hope there will be. then that would be interesting
  16. check your cables for possible defects. possible solution is use a y adapter to split the signal then use another 2 y adapters to connect your 2 subs using their L and R connection at the back of the sub. that away u can add more dB hope this helps
  17. hey kenrat boy. nice thread. just a quick question. do you have an updated version of that chart? coz it seems that the recievers were kind of old except for some..
  18. hey slingin. if you say you have a $1000 budget thats nice. u can have a decent reciever. i went to an audio dealer here in los angeles to test some recievers for my dads system. i finally came down to two choices. denon 3803 36.4 lbs h/k avr7200 53 lbs (not sure but it is some what in the 50 above). these are great recievers. both powerful and nice clean sound produced. the avr7200 can produce nearly its rated output at about 95-98/channel all channels driven.(rated at 100w) denon is powerful also, but im some what practical in where will my money go (power is not conservative). if you can extend your budget to $1050 get the avr 7200. but i prefer that you should go to a dealer and give them a try.
  19. ok i need to help my dad buy a good sounding reciever for his room. he told me that he had a $1200 budget. he doesnt want to go separates coz' its way too expensive in his opinion.(unlike me i have separates for the amps) i told him not to buy on overpriced stores such as CC best buy fry's. so i think onecall.com is somewhat a good choice. H/K avr 7200 sounds really great, but im having some negative feedback regarding with its quality and issues(7200 owners pls. respond)denon 3803 is a good choice also. the new pioneer elite 55 is marked at $1500, havent heard it. ohh my dad bought jbl speakers(not a klispch fan, but rather a JBl fan) mains- 2 pairs of jbl s38II- to be hooked up to 2 rotel rb 1070s, which i bought as a gift to him yesterday. center speaker- 1 Pair of jbl s-centerII to be hooked up to his 2 old marantz ma 500 mono block amps. surrounds- 2 pairs of jbl s26II which will be hooked up to the reciever. any suggestions will be appreciated. other recievers at the $1200 area will be appreciated also. thank you in advance
  20. i love my fotr exrended. it is pack with lots of massice and nerve wrecking bass. love the sound also. im waiting fot the two towers extended up to november.lol
  21. nice to hear all your replies. sound & vision looks fine to me. im in the process(a eyar or 2 years from now) of building a best HT that i can build with low budget. powered subs are not a prob to me. i can build a sonotube sub only prob is i have no router yet.. thanks for the rep[lies. and hope for some suggestions also..
  22. hey james, sounds that s&v is cool with me, but what about the articles? how many pages that s&v have vs. the SGHT. which is more interesting to read? which is helpful?(i think both coz' uv stated that s&v is for starters and sght is for somewhat prof. which do you prefer? so hmm.. people.. anymore suggestions?
