  1. lol. dawg.. yes they do have plastic cap to protect it.. anyways enjoy.. and put some impression about the quality so i know what i have been missing with out the optical cable
  2. ok. i think its all good. 22 feet and 6 inches for the length. hey try to make the front wider by a feet or 2. and try to make the celing taller by a feet, but 22' 6" in length is too much for a 12 feet width.. make it wider as the celing also i know not everyone else can read the diagram, but i can read it though lol. i took some 2 year course on drafting (actually maybe four) so i know some of it. ok now let me explain this to everone else. on the top view the lines serves as the walls, fronts as 12 ft in width and the back at 8 feet in width. side view i dont know with the x mark, but i think those are compartments.. now celing on the front is 6foot 6 inches going straight to the back at 6 foot 2. "Unparallel rectangle" hope that you understand it now.
  3. the avr 8000 by HK only has 5 channels, soi suggest if ever you're going to buy an HK reciever.. buy the avr7200 w/c has 7 channels. but i think there is an issue about the Hk avr's something with popping and snapping sound. dont know about that. on the otherhand, i dont have the avr 7200, looking at the back panel it has 6 or 8 direct input. now regarding with your question damon, if you use a preamp/controller. and use the 6 or 8 channel input of the avr. that is possible. still the sound will be processed because the unit is a reciever, and only the reciever will be an amp if there is a certain switch to turn the processing of sound off and make it neutral. if ever that may happen. hhwalaaa!! there you go.. you already have an amp. one thing damon. how in the hell do you need a preamp? the sound processed by the HK technology is good. they do have the L7 which is my favorite, but if only i have the money i will buy the lexicon mc12b. and also damon you can use the 6 or 8 channel input via the outputs of a dvd, dvda sacd player.
  4. well i havent heard the RW12s performace but ive read the specs of it., i think they were just the same as the cht 15. only diff is the driver. now w/c has the most outstanding sound? quick guess only
  5. i think you've really missed that part. on the thx optimizer press audio test, at first it will test if the speakers were in the right channels, then press forward then play test, it will check the phases. keep pressing forward until you'll be at the crossover freq test. hit play test, and you will hear a tone which is playing at 200hz to 20 hz. remember to put the volume in moderate level coz' at the 40 hz below level. it will rock the house.lol if you cant find it. try to play starwars I, II, ice age, T2 (the new one, fight club, independence day, monsrers inc, and many more.. here is the link http://thx.com/mod/products/dvdFind.html then click view entire list. those were thx certified. hope this will help you.. ty update us with the pics and impressions with the sub
  6. hey damon congrats you've finally got it.. as for the sub testing try to run LOTR (cave troll scene) it has some good low freq bass,, the one at the beginning is sort of high. or try to run the U-571 specially the last scene.. credits scene.. it has some low freq bass. ohh, the pod scene on starwars phantom menace. last suggestion.. try to run the THX optimizer on the audio. try to run the 200 hz to 20 hz test. give us your impressions.. and of course the pics
  7. let me say that. for that kinda set up your willing to upgrade, man your ht room is too small. you will get many unwanted vibrations of waves. well what can i say.. SOUND TREATMENT. now go for it. for the 2 center rear channels. why not use a regular surround speakers instead of a center speaker. . on the front projector.. i forgot the model no. but the brand name is sanyo. model no. has some number 12 in it. picture quality is great..
  8. well lets see, since he doesnt know about speakers, invite him one day to go to a local audio video store.. and then try to side by side testing the non sense bose to other options. that may help i think. and also if he wanted to go small, well i think he just wants HT, but music and ht reason go with the larger ones..
  9. hey john albright isnt it better to compare the subs with the same price range? point is, the rsw 12 is at the $1000 mark. and the velo cht 12 is like 399-499 i think. now i think there is a difference in that. in power amp. the rsw 12 i think is running a 650 watt amp while the velo cht 12 is only 170. now there is again a difference with that. a couple of months ago i tested the cht 12 at CC. and it always clips in high loads. i think go with the rsw series, but pls do check out other subs there like svs servo 15 and other brands
  10. i have a question. im just curious what is the concept of this thing? is it like a jackhammer pounding your floor or couch? or is it a subwoofer? sorry about this. i havent seen the buttkicker and i haven't seen it perform. if anyone have these product, give me some info on how this thing works. actually i dont need this product, but im curious on how does this thing work ty

  12. nice.. you can put your speakers nicely, but thing is,... do you have enough bass in there? if there isnt enough bass try adding one at the back.lol you have enough space at the back
  13. ---------------- On 6/18/2003 9:51:50 AM j-malotky wrote: You need the right processor. The Lexicon I use for HT turns the 5.1 signal into 7.1 and does an amazing job. I ran it in 5.1 for a while and I like the 7.1 much better. FYI - it can turn 2.0 into 7.1 as well. I have listened to some Techno and it is fun sounding in 7.1. Organ music is wild in 7.1. JM ---------------- i agree lexicon has some good preamps for HT as well as music also I LOVE THE LOGIC 7 feature.. and also the LOGIC music also.. yehh

  17. hey kaderli you've answered your own question.. you're driving your sub too hard.
  18. basically dougrake is right. check your wiring.. other alternative is. maybe your amp is defective or cannot accept too much load. thats about it.. ohh maybe check also the polarity in your connection
  19. i suggest the velo SPL1200. this comparison is not a competition.lol
  20. im goin with the rsw hey pinipig.. whats up.. about the infinity sub your talkin about.. i think that is the entra sub two.. they aight.but sometimes they bottom out.. ohh yess they rattle the floor so good coz they move alot of air out of that 12 inch woofer. if im not mistaken it has like a near 2 inch rubber in width or what you even call it. which is good, but problem is rubber is too thin. thats the problem. but you are right.. they do rumble the floor so good eventhough it is not recognized as one of the good subs in the price range. ohh if u wanted to have that sub. it is on sale in circuit city for like $285. but search at the internet if they are on sale. hey pinipig.. you a filipino?
  21. if you wanted to have a really low freq. bass try the 16-46CS Subwoofer Samson 700 Watt Amp Pro-Grade Interconnect . they are really good. they are really for HT use.. but not for music use. velodyne's are also good/ by the way.. how much is your budget? i hope it is around $800-900. if so: if you wanted to have both music and HT go with the velodyne's. if you really wanted really low freq bass but not intended for music use... try the svs i mentioned above. hsu vtf-3 are good also. u can't get wrong with hsu.. ohh mann it runs almost a 20 pound magnet structure. hsu are good on lows also. so my best suggestion is to try them out. thing is u can't try thr hsu n svs.lol but im sure others can help you here.
  22. it really depends kain64. on seperates. if the preamp is not good in sound quality. it will effect the sound that will be produced on your amp.vice versa. on the otherhand, in a reciever some of them are good like the top of the line reciever of denon. and other recievers with a good sound processing in them like the harman kardon's specifically the avr- 325,7200 and so on......coz of the logic 7. also in recievers, they some what lack power to drive the loudspeakers. therefore. it really depends on the quality and also to your music taste. read the post that TheEAR posted about the m&k subs. i have posted there some opinions about your home theater thing.
  23. yepp TheEAR they are way too much overrated. hey kain 64. saw ur post. for the amp. why not change it to a b&k 200.7 . and for the preamp. i dont know yet. coz for me. the best sounding pre/processor is the mc-8/b or the mc-12/b by lexicon for its renowned LOGIC 7. they are too much for the price but worth every penny. i think the mc-8 is for like $5000 or more, and the mc-12 is like $8999 or more. the other altnernative is buying a harman kardon reciever avr-325 because of its 7.1 capability and of course the renowned LOGIC 7. there you can use the preouts of the reciever and connect it to the amp that you wanted to buy. there you have it . the b&k 200.7 cost like $2700-2800 and the harman/kardon avr-325 cost like $550 at onecall.com. good thing on having a reviever with those feature is that u can put some speakers for the reciever.. as long as the amp.lol ONLY THING IF THIS WILL WORK IS: IF THE HARMAN KARDON AVR-325 WILL BE OUTPUTTING THE PROCESSED SOUND INSIDE IT THROUGH ITS PREOUTS. THEREFORE, YOU WILL HAVE A LOGIC 7 PREOUTS AS LONG AS THE OTHER DECODERS.LOL ask more people about this coz' im not sure.
  24. im curious, what does other audio enthusiast meant by saying "this amp has a warmer sound" ?? honestly i dont know what he means... what kinda sound is that.. can yall put a little more info about that?
