  1. You have to get past the beginning of the song to really hear it. About at 31 secs in you can hear the tweeters and bass much better.
  2. They are actually wood and were veneered special. I bought them from the son of the guy that owned SVS. Pretty cool huh!
  3. Thanks Dtel if you are ever in Pittsburgh, PA I would love to have you come for a glass of wine and listen.
  4. I said I recorded it with a IPAD which is not recording equipment. Anyway it was just to show the equipment. I will do better next time with the video!
  5. Dual SVS Cylinders subwoofers but they are not running on this track
  6. The room is 15 wide by 28 deep. Wish I did have more room.
  7. Mine sounded quite nice with a pair of Dynaco Mark 3 which run KT88s
  8. I still have my Khorns upstairs but this set up is Killer. I captured this with an I pad. Let me know what ya think.
  9. Time for a new pair. I had both rf3 an 7 and was never able to get them to sound great. The best however was with tube monoblocks but not sure if you want to run those in a HT setup.
  10. See my post a few days back on the same subject ( my thoughts ) http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/143437.aspx
  11. Cool read as to why I am hearing what I am...................................http://www.stereophile.com/content/logitech-squeezebox-touch-network-music-player-measurements
  12. I am telling you try one from Amazon, if ya don't like it send it back ( you don't have to pay the tax and all you have is shipping ). My money says you keep it . I also saw that blog thank you. I just bought an external hard drive today and I am making all my files to FLAC as we speak. I have some more experimenting to do but I agree with most of what has been written on this little thing ( pretty amazing ). So far it's one of the best additions to my system.... tuner, cd players and antenna look like they will be up for sale...........stay tuned
  13. What I have been impressed with is the quality of the DAC through the standard interconnects. The earlier SB needed an external DAC but I think I can live with this for a while. I have heard that the power supply can be upgraded and that is a huge improvement.
  14. I am using EAC Flac files and running through the squeeze box DAC. Very nice for the cost. Anyone else have one? What do you think?
  15. Could I buy a pair from you? send me a PM
  16. Anyone have a pair of these or know where I could two? Thanks
  17. Listen to some vintage Altec, JBL, Bozak, jensen stuff, then make the call. It's a journey, you have some good stuff it comes down to flavor.
  18. Here is a sample of what I was referring to http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10236&cs_id=1023603&p_id=2680&seq=1&format=2
  19. I have heard of others using it but how does it sound? Anyone tried it? If not could you recommend a cheap .030 in O.D. cable that would work?
  20. 1500.00 for a pair in good condition. Is there even a comparison between these two? Cornwall bass is superior but coloration is also superior. The horns and drivers in altecs are clearly better even proven with measurements. mowntnbkr, you are on the right track. A comparison between the 19 and the khorn or RF7 would be a better test. In your tests did you drive both with the same preamp and amplification?
  21. What a slam to the audio community. That is the same opinion I get from almost all the people that see my system without hearing it.
  22. That's more like burn out! I almost lost an O ring once that way when stuck on the Pittsburgh trolley after a long night out. Local Mexican restaurant called Jose and Toni's gave me the worst case of Jose hole as it has been referred to ever since. I used to ride the train to work daily, but this morning was going to be different than any another. It started with a small stomach growl, like the Mexican food was saying adiós your done. I played as if it was nothing, sure, I could handle it, I've been here before I told myself. Well the birth pangs lead to one after the next until there was no end in sight. I pinched so hard you could have put nickels into that slot and had them come back as quarters. I stood up, pulled the emergency stop cord on the train and told the conductor if he did not stop the train immediately he would have a tragedy on his hands. He exclaimed "Dude, can you hold it until the next stop"? " I'll floor it!" - HE DID!- I never knew a trolley could move like that. Needless to say, he spared all 60+ on the train. Getting off the story get's even better. No bathroom no nothing.... .....but 20 more passengers boarding and a steep inclining hillside. Well, 4 strides into ascending that hill I started to lose it by the 5 stride the grip of that Mexican dinner stopped me dead in my tracks. As the trolley pulled away I know there was a sigh of relief for the conductor and the unsuspecting travelers. As I remember it, the sun was shinning but all if not most on the trolley would agree that they witnessed a Full Moon on Monday at 8:15AM!
