  1. Notice thats two KA-1000 amps! 1000 watts for each sub.. whoa! 7,525.00 + free shipping. Not bad http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-THX-Ultra2-Home-Theater-Speaker-System_W0QQitemZ5793340710QQcategoryZ32861QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting I feel sorry for the guy, Hes within driving distance from me too! Too bad I can't even afford 1/10th of that thing.
  2. We can a lot to this I'm sure http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klipsch edit away boys! And for fun we can all slam on this one a little more href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bose_Corporation Im not sure if you guys know how to use the site, but basically you add or edit whatever you want and it gets reviewed. I wrote a bit for Sony actually.
  3. Go with the sub-10, ask for 10% off at best buy.
  4. If they are not color coordinated, then read the numbers on teh back on the output jacks put orange to 5/6 put black to 3/4 put green to 1/2
  5. wow, I was going say this is a dumb topic, but I understand where you dino's are coming from.. The Triassic period.. I MEAN 1965. I MEAN LONG BEFORE I WAS BORN. Perhaps one day, I may buy the heritage stuff if I have loads of money.. but Ill never like the way it looks over modern speakers. So in a way.. yes, I DONT Want heritage despite its reputation. Id rather have dynaudio or krell, or hell, even Wilson or maybe Klipsch premier when it comes out. The heritage can only be used in very specific applications. Large tuned rooms. In this day and age we have things like PCs and some people on those pcs like to have sound. I dont think a khorn would fit on my desk much less an RF-anything, so I got some rsxs. (Promedia before them) I have to admit, for their size, they are wonderful. And Im sure they sound a lot better than heritage at the listening distance I have them at. (2-3 feet). So for my pc, Ill take rsxs, but if I had a HT of my dreams, I think id take the Ultra THX2 system over a heritage one. I just think it would be more efficient. I mean after all, that system is for movies. Klipsch keeps up with the times, and they have specific speakers for specific reason. Heritage simply can not fit into all applications these days.
  6. whats better plywood or mdf? can you make dove tails with either? (being that they are not solid wood) like this

I'll be the first to admit, bose sound good. At least when ever I've heard them. I wouldn't take them over my Klipsch, but they do sound good for their size. ---------------- My RSX's are far better than bose sats and they do it for less money ( have A/B'ed both, it was more of a joke because it was obvious)
  8. i think you could get the 12 for 450(auth'ed) if you really looked hard.

But it is time for a brand new system...I think I'll go for something NON Klipsch. If I'm going to spend $50+ on a repair...I might as well go buy a new system that has prooven to be a solid and lasting performer. ---------------- ya, about the whole "prooven to be a solid and lasting performer" good luck, and I'll give you some tips, forget logitech, altec lansing and creativelabs, bceause they are all gonna have simialr problems. If its not buzzing, its hissing, if its not hissing, its reliability, if its not reliability, its rattling in the subwoofer, etc etc etc........ every brand has had these probems. Its not just klipsch.
  10. http://www.orbaudio.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=16&Category=12 should be interesting
  11. two rw-8's would be better than the rw-10, but two 10's would even better (duh) 2 > 1 with the a second subwoofer, if you place it on the other side of the room (equal distance from your listening position) you can create a more immersive environment. While doubling the wave intensity just from the added power and you can even get constructive interference up to quadruple the intensity. (+6dB gain)
  12. rsw's are sealed - no openings to the outside.
  13. wow, only a 1000 for the pair, thats really good. What kinda power are you giving em? I'm depressed today, one of my RSX-5's is started acting up an hour ago. (Midrange driver sounds messed up). I think it needs to be replaced/repaired. I'm not sure what the heck I did to it. I'm gonna go cry now.
  14. thanks for the help guys. the poping out of the left channel may have induced this problem with this speaker, or not. Either way, this speaker is not healthy Also, i think its impossible to open up the rsx's unlesss you know how
  15. damn, is that 1968? I need to hold on to my old **** from now on!
  16. Ok, I downloaded foobar because I realized the popping could just be the mp3 files. foobar has seemed to work and the poping sounds are gone. I was worried about the poping because it was only out of one channel, I found that to be strange, but foobar seems to have fixed it for now. However, one my rsx-5's (a seemingly different problem) still makes a fuzzy noise out of the midrange driver. I hooked it up to where my other RSX-5 was and it still emits the sound, but the other one does not. I made sure the connect was good. The sound seems to get worse with time (or heat of the voice coil perhaps?) :
  17. **** one of my RSX-5's has some other problem, it sounds fuzzy, its definitly the speaker. Great, i lost my REVO and a RSX-5 in one day GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Have you made sure your connections are tight, they can go bad. Let us know if you've tried these actions. ---------------- yes its not the speakers (thank god, cuz I'm using RSX-5's) its channel dependent
  19. well, i swapped my front and rear channels in software mode, and the poping has stopped, it looks like it could me the front Left dac in my revo. Dammnit that thing was expensive!
  20. So is my amp toast? It does it even at very low amp volume, its just the popping sounds are quieter I suppose it could also be my revo 7.1
  21. I have some promedia 2.1's the amp volume is about 1/2 but the input volume from my pc is at 0 and when the signal comes in, i hear some poping or clipping from the song. If I turn up the amp volume the popping gets louder even though I still can't hear the song. Any explanation for this? This also only occures out of one of the channels (not both)
  22. Whats the price differences?
