  1. Fantastic! Thank you BOTH! I think I'm going to try this out with the "extra" Heresy I have... Thanks, Mike

  3. Thanks for the input... I'll check out that C7 Mike

  5. Hi all, I have 3 Heresy's up front, (and 2 in the rear), and to me, they sound pretty damn good. But SWMBO isn't crazy about the Heresy on it's side on top of the TV cabinet. How would the KG 2.2v sound as a replacement for the Heresy I center? I like to keep SWMBO happy, but I could tune out her squawker if keeping the Heresy as a center leads to a more pleasureable listening experience. Thanks for the input... Mike
  6. They were made the day after mine on Friday, May 21, 1982...
  7. I agree they're a beautiful pair. I've purchased two pairs on eBay that were manufactured less than a week apart in the same year as those, (136X & 140X). They have the same finish and grills and both are in near mint condition. One pair came in at $410, the other at $401.50. The average price delivered was $471. Oh well, I guess if I were on the other side of the auction, I'd be jumping up and down with glee... Mike
  8. Unreal! First the Academy frenzy, now Heresy... I would have paid a premium price for that pair to finsh out my all Heresy HT, but $737?? Plus shipping?? Plus a premium for packaging?? I guess some people still do smoke that stuff!! Mike
  9. Most standard veneers are cut to a thickness of about 1/28" to 1/40". At best, it's about 1/16". That ain't much. If it's an oil finish, you can TRY to sand them out and them reapply some tung oil. Chances are those stains went deep though, and you might be better off just trying to hide it than trying to repair it. Thanks, Mike
  10. Hey JM, That sounds like a great idea. Any chance of sharing that ACAD drawing? Thanks, Mike
  11. Hey Milton, I'm running my all Heresy HT with an Anthem AVM-20 paired with the MCA-50 amp. I'm blown away by it listening to two channel music or 5.1 video! Check out Sonic Frontiers: http://www.anthemav.com/NewSitev2.0/News1.html About $3600 for the pair lightly used from AudiogoN. Mike
  12. Thank you all very, very much for responding to a question that's been addressed numerous times. I suppose I knew the answer as soon as I posted it. I just needed to type it out and hear it one more time to keep my head on straight. Mike
  13. In the past several months I've purchased two pairs of '82 Heresy's to use in my humble HT. I've been waiting for a single Heresy (WO) or another pair to come up on ebay to complete the setup. As it is, I've been following your suggestions and have 3 Heresy's up front. And I must say it sounds fantastic! Now, with the Academy flood on ebay, I've been rethinking the center. Putting aside for the moment the ~$300 cost differential between the Academy and a single Heresy, should I go for an Academy center or leave well enough alone with the 3 Heresy's up front? Thanks, Mike
  14. Dave, I'm interested. What's the S/N? Please email me... michael.bufis@verizon.net Thanks, Mike
  15. Check out the Anthem MCA-50 from Sonic Frontiers. http://www.anthemav.com/NewSitev2.0/News2.html Here's one review: http://www.hometheatersound.com/equipment/anthem_mca50.htm Mike
