  1. Moon, after the failed marriage proposal and drinking beer, the poor pumpkin worshipped the throne... Then lived happily ever after![]
  2. Dr. Who you're killing me.[] I'm sure all of the geologist out there agree with your point of view that they're worthless. The oil companies should fire them all as they obviously don't know the difference between a million year old rock and the rock they're smoking right?? I guess you're not a fan of the Big Bang theory either, huh? Or the thermal/time measurements taken on expanding stars to determine the age of the Universe. Can the Big Bang be replicated? NO, but it's been computer modeled to death. Then again it's still only a theory and not proofed. Still I give it weight on the side of being most probable. That is until someone can debunk it. I've read carbon dating has it's flaws. On the other hand flawed or not it's still widely used today. Why is that? Are all the labs performing the test a bunch of rip off, money laundering, bamboozeling frauds? http://www.c14dating.com/int.html Where's the Attorney General when you need him? Finally, science or no science, rocks or no rocks, I still ain't buying the dinosaurs are only 5K years old, and in only 5K years they've managed to be buried several thousand feet below the surface and turned into oil. No way, no how. I don't need science to tell me that. Common sense is more than enough. I hate junk science... http://www.umich.edu/~gs265/bigbang.htm As far as the UFO's. Didn't you ever watch the X Files? [] What more proof do you need???[mo]
  3. Maybe you should make a trip to the Keys on a fact finding mission to garner a few ideas....if that's not possible you can look back to the past[6] http://www.fantasyfestvideo2004.com/gallery/gallery.html http://www.aprs.net/FantFest2000/ http://www.brianzajac.com/fantasy_fest_pictures.cfm Good Luck!!! (sorry the devil made me do this too!)
  4. I'm so sorry about saying the earth is older than 5 K years. I didn't mean to offend any one, but the truth is the devil made me do it. [] Really science, geology and carbon dating about sizes it up for me. I know that doesn't work for everyone. It'd be rather boring if it did. As far as seeing unexpained "things" from an airliner...fighter pilots, and Astronauts have their own unexplained sightings. Yeah it could be physics. We don't know everything. For instance we do know there is a hell of a lot more "dark matter" than the matter we see in the universe and we know zip about it. Kinda like those damn Aliens..... LOL!!! Forgive me, it's my nature...
  5. That's the beauty of micro brewer's ...so much beer and so little time! We have a local BBQ and micro brew which is quite nice, but there are so many others across this country, I'll never have the pleasure to meet! Not long ago I went on a dive trip where I brought along some home brew. After the dive the group had a few. One guy told me as much as he enjoyed the home brew, he just had to have a Heineken. So he went down to the hotel bar and got one. He then came back up to our room and told every one he didn't know what it was but after drinking the home brew the Heineken "tasted like ****". I'll say this about brewing your own, you can drink a ton of it w/o feeling it the next day. Then there's MEAD! True nectar of the gods!!!
  6. Hell YES they exist. We launch several of our own every year in my back yard. Anyone who believes out of the Billions of other solar systems out there, that WE are the only intelligent life forms is indeed living in their own little world. Vegas would love those odds. That's like saying this world is only five thousand years old and the Dinosaurs didn't exist...but then that's another arguement........
  7. When I had to time to brew my own I leaned toward the IPA style, that said give the opportunity these are worth checking out if you like a "hoppy" beer[] http://www.flyingdogales.com/beer-doggie-style.asp http://www.redhook.com/ales_esb1.htm http://www.redhook.com/ales_ipa1.htm http://www.redhook.com/ales_blonde1.htm Of course Sammy Adams, Belgain ales and almost any import NOT in a clear bottle are all welcome at my house LOL!
  8. I might be showing my age, but I think the common name for it was/is called "getter". As already mentioned its purpose was for absorbing oxygen.
  9. Jim, That's funny!!! After I finish getting my house back together... I'm still doing hurricane repair from last year, we'll have to get together. The other member is the Q-Man who lives to the north .
  10. Jim, I just caught where you lived! Small world...I now know of at least 3 members that live on the Island. Kind of amazing actually. BTW, I'm actually in Angel City. LOL!!!
  11. I'm ASSuming the reason the seller wants to use C&F is because he doesn't want the liabililty or hassle of boxing these up. There are other options you might consider like the "Mailboxes" franchise. I would not push to seller into packing these items. Personally it's been a month and I still have yet to settle w/ Visa and or PayPal for the set of K-43's I returned to the seller due to his failure to pack as promised. Good Luck
  12. re:I wonder what kind of spl at one meter those are putting out? about the same as dynamite I would think. Back when they were still prepping the pad's sound suppression system (rainbirds) they used dynamite to simulate the shuttle at lift off.
  13. Damn, I didn't expect the launch photo to be so BIG!! here's a return ride home
  14. Some of you might enjoy these
  15. These K-43's are like a fart in church...today makes the third time UPS has attempted to return them to me instead of the sender (as is their policy, or so they claim). I called this morning telling them NOT to come here and they did it anyway, even after assuring me they'd call and wave off the driver. Un-#@$%^& believable... The last time it found its way here it really looked like hell, I mean it was BAD after the first trip, but now it's spewing popcorn fragments out of newly worn holes when squeezed. I can only imagine the shape the k-43's are in now. Quite a slow painful death they didn't deserve.
  16. Ok, now I'm starting to get a little concerned. UPS picked the POS package up today, but it's not relected on their website. Normally it's almost immediate with the new high tech hardware they're using. If this thing gets lost...I don't even want to think about it.
  17. I have so many damn projects going at once now, but one is always on the back burner and that's to install a system similar to these. It's not going to stop the local crackhead, but hopefully will let you see who's head it is you need to crack... http://cgi.ebay.com/4-Camera-Motion-Activated-Security-System-VCR-Control_W0QQitemZ5993736181QQcategoryZ66738QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem if the link doesn't work it's item number: 5993736181 on ePay
  18. Just when I thought It couldn't get any worse...I went to the UPS website to see how far along these things were on their way back to the seller... only to see they returned the damn things back to me and they were sitting by my front door. I thought the bottom of the box was going to fall out as I moved them inside. I called UPS and asked just what in the hell was going on...OOPS! WE're sorry sir, we will pick them back up tomorrow and return them to the sender.... I'd be laughing if I wasn't so PO'd...
  19. I've heard PayPal was nearly worthless at resolving issues, I guess that's why I took the shotgun approach and filed with both them and Visa at the same time. In total I probably have over 300+ purchases on ePay. Only about three of them has gone south. Percentage wise that's around 1%, which isn't a bad risk. For me some of the deals I've come across outweigh the risk. I mean I once bought at least $3500 in aluminum scaffolding for $115.00. The guy was PO'd saying he could have earned more by scrapping it than selling it. It's that 1 percent crowd that kills you.
  20. I hope this is acceptable to post warnings of this nature here. I'd hate to see someone else go through the problem I'm experiencing. I recently made the mistake of buying two K-43's from "ezrasoul" on ePay. Ezra Echerkis claims he double boxes heavy items on his auction. What arrived were two K-43's loosely facing one another in a plastic bag, placed inside a beat to crap used cardboard box filled w/ peanuts. Needless to say the magnets took beating and now this clown wants me to pay for his negligence. At first it was a NO way NO how refund offer. He had to back off of that after UPS took them off my hands and is returning them to him. Now his offer is I need to wait and see how much UPS is going to pay him for his stupidity before he can refund me anything. Over and over again I've told him that his issue is with UPS and him...that I'm no longer in the picture, but he insists on leaving me connected. Another words he wishes to make me liable for his being a MORON. I've filed a complaint with PayPal and Visa as this guy is in my mind not the least bit trust worthy. If he is he hasn't shown any indication of it thus far. What kills me, and is hard to understand, is he has a good feedback rating. I don't get it... So... if you see a pair of K-43's being sold by this clown on ePay in the near future...You've been WARNED!! BTW, what kind of name is Ezra Echerkis?
  21. D Man, thanks for the help. The way things are going it'll be another year before I'm ready to cut wood (( But when I do, I may employ the 6" throat just to play around. I plan to cross at 400hz so that may not be an issue. One of two things will happen, either they'll get better or... Thanks TC
  22. If you had to venture a guess, what kind of a db gain do you think you'd see using a 6" slot?
  23. D Man re: Note that the 3" wide slot opening is technically NOT the throat PER SE, its a slot filter. It should be widened to 6" for maximum efficiency when NOT using a K33E. The throat area cross-section in all 3 PWK Heritage bass horns is 78 sq. inches (St), REGARDLESS of the throat opening employed! Would this apply to using a K-43 as well? Does not the industrial LaScala also have a 3" slot? Or are you saying it too would be more efficient with a 6" slot? Just curious. Thanks
