  1. Ok I couldn't remember for sure, it's an unbelievable amount. This buddy, my Grandson standing by a shell in the USS Alabama to give you an idea of the size. Oh I guess the joke was lost. The Battleship NJ which is an Iowa Class Battleship uses 6 as the video demonstrated versus the 3 from the Alabama.
  2. 5.0 liters does not mean it is a 2.4 liter F1 engine. So what if it has individual butterflies m5 does not mean its a formula 1 car.
  3. I love it, that would be great in traffic, I dare you to blow your horn! "Flame Throwers are legal!" But like you said, I also do everything I can to avoid being in a cage. We went to see the USS Alabama on the coast, those size guns are amazing, the pack of powder is like the size of a laundry hamper and I think they said they can use 3, it's hard to imagine controlling that much power. That last video is crazy, that's just a bunch of nuts, I wouldn't worry about the paintballs, the fall could kill you. Flame thrower is legal and I can't even buy ammonia nitrate for growing corn, just one bag ? It's like a 3 page form and a picture ID and a background check, and promise you won't blow up any government property, including mailboxes, or shave your head, or grow a beard and change religions. Real State Battleships use 6 [] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJdinQQk1O8&feature=related
  4. That is true, that even depending on what applications you have on your cell phone will effect if it transmits or not, such as the google maps and the traffic updates as shown here. Not only that, but often time, some of these apps are always looking for updates as well and notifies you if it finds an update. So the point is that it is very possible that even if put to 'sleep' and put in your pocket, the phone can still be transmitting intermittently. Of course, for the really anal or the tin-foil hat types, it is possible to disable that (such as putting it in 'airplane mode', but then you would not be able to recieve calls if you do that) It is part of the android platform. I can turn it off but then google maps effectively is turned off as well which means I do not get to use gps on my gps enabled phone. Its one of those pilot programs or actually no longer pilot. The android platform makes their users guinea pigs for test apps. Even if you turn your phone off it can still technically transmit as it never really goes off but goes into a sleep mode. It can actually be turned back on by the wireless carrier or if the police/government wants to. Even airplane mode can be defeated I believe. So the best way to if you do not want to be tracked, take the battery out.
  5. What I wanted to say was my android phone does this weird thing, if it detects you are traveling faster than say 10 mph or so and on a highway or road route, it detects this as you being in a car. Google pings all the android phones in that vacinity as well and if the threshold is high enough or whatever parameters they put meets the requirement they can show in realtime on googlemaps that a particular stretch of highway has a lot of traffic (red) medium traffic (yellow) and light traffic (green)
  6. Google steals my location and uses it to show on googlemaps if the highway is trafficky or not to other users.
  7. I keep my wallet and cellphone in the same pocket for over two years they still work. But when it's in your pocket it not transmitting, could that make a difference ? I have an android phone which means it always is transmitting. It lasts 2/3 of a day battey wise because it always transmits.
  8. I keep my wallet and cellphone in the same pocket for over two years they still work.
  9. They also drive on the swordhand side as well..... Silly Brits
  10. Where is hurd? I have a single tc sounds 5400, two tcsounds 2000, and a rsw 12
  11. One of the wettest winter and spring over on the east coast. Hmmm global climate change.... heavens forbid.
  12. http://music-electronics-forum.com/t3639/ http://www.hometheaterforum.com/forum/thread/130932/passive-biamping-how-much-improvement "When you say passive biamping, you know that this can only be accomplished by completely getting rid of the internal speaker crossovers from the amp to speaker path? Biamping uses an external crossover to send one section of the whole signal to each driver. The only difference between passive and active biamping is the type of crossover used to split the signal BEFORE it reaches the amplifier. Once the signals are split, each piece of the signal goes to a single amplifier channel, which then feeds the signal directly to the driver unit. If you are unable to seperate the drivers from the internal speaker crossover, then you cannot biamp. Just using a single amp channel to send a signal to each set of binding posts is called Fool's Biamping, since you are still using the speaker's internal crossover. As for the improvement in your system, there will probably be a slight improvement, but it will probably not be worth the price of another set of amp channels. As always with audio, the law of diminishing returns takes place when biamping (JMHO, though). " "By just removing the jumper you are not bypassing the internal crossovers. You will only be separating the modes of power delivery for the drivers. The whole idea of biamping is to have one amp channel use its power to deliver one section of the full spectrum of sound. By using the internal crossovers of the speaker, each amp channel is still delivering a full ranges signal through each set of speaker wire, a signal which only separates by the time it reaches the crossover network of the speaker. To completely bypass the crossover, you would have to take the jumpers off, then disconnect the drivers and binding posts from the crossover and connect the binding posts to the drivers directly. " "While this has been used as an alternative definition of "passive biamping," I read a series of articles (I dont remember where, but please don't flame me) that looked at the benefits of baimping in this way, and when those benefits were minimal at best, this method of biamping was decried as "fool's biamping." However, my reasons for calling this type of biamplification not valid are as such: The whole idea of using the speaker's internal crossover is totally against the reason for biamplification. Biamplification's main benefit is to limit the amount of bandwidth frequency each amp channel delivers to the speaker, in effect decreasing the amount and extent of work each channel does, and in the end decreasing the chance of distorsion, clipping, and other harmful side-effects that occur when an amp is worked too hard while at the same time increasing headroom and clarity for the rnage of frequency that the amp delivers. However, when using the speaker's internal crossover, a full-range signal is still being sent to each set of binding posts. The internal crossover is sifting out the unneeded range of frequency, but the FULL RANGE SIGNAL is still being pushed out by each amp channel. Also, by using amp power to push out the full range signal, power is wasted because of the use of the internal crossover, which gets rid of the extra signal by soaking in the amp power that was used to generate it. This method of biamping is essentially the same as biwiring with a more powerful amp, as opposed to using seperate amp channels to drive each frequency range. The benefits of "fool's biamping" are essentially the same as using biwire speaker cable and an amp with twice the power of the existing amp."
  13. I am most likely going to get the focus st hatchback when it comes out. I really like the ford europe car design. I wish ford would bring this over (Ford Mondeo) I also see these popping up all over the NYC area now. (Ford transit connect) Take a look here as well http://www.ford.co.uk/Cars
  14. I'm seriously considering buying one of these (same SES hatchback model) for my son, who goes away to TCU in the fall. Did you get the 5-speed stick? I drove one about a month ago...... handling reminded my a lot of the Mazda RX7 I bought new in 1982 and drove for 9 years. The Fiesta was r-e-a-l-l-y fun to drive. I had my son drive it too that same afternoon........ he says it was "Ok", but his attention was glued to the Mustang in the showroom. He thinks the Fiesta is a "girl's car". I think it would be an easier sell (to him and to others) if it had a different name...... Fire, Flash, Fuze, etc. Let me know what you think about it over the coming days and weeks. I probably need to do something between now and mid-June. girl's car???? Show him this let's see another car do a beach front assault

  16. First to the poster who made the thread, welcome to the forums. Second its not quite bi amping or bi wiring. In this case its fool's bi amping. When you bi amp you need to remove the crossover of the speaker as they are sending the high and lows etc to the speakers but when you bi amp you have two different amps. sending sound to the speakers. bi wiring means you are just sending 4 wires to the speakers. There are numerous debates if wire actually produces sound etc. Klipsch just puts the option to appease these people as the cost to fit bi wire capability is low. fools bi amping is basically sending in double the power into the same crossover. Also I am not making fun its just the name and people get caught in it. I did to until I researched it.
  17. A2012 focus just showed up and its nice. I also got to look at the fiesta and its like a focus just 4/5 the size
  18. I have a pair of rf-83. when new it was pretty blondish now they are redheads.

  20. surprisingly dtel, screw caps are in. They have a semi breatheable washer in them that allows them to age more predictably than corks.
  21. Hey you live near by me, I saw the story. I will buy you a beer if you ever go in Mahattan or Hoboken.
  22. You can get the smell out. Though I remember one time a homeless man in the subway had the worst smell I ever smelled and I know what a rotting corpse floating from the east river smells like, with the guts liquifying upon opening.
  23. I believe it either for decanting the wine or for finding the percentage alcohol. I think the latter you stick that straight into the aging barrel and you can test the wine.
  24. Oh Amy I am on the list but I moved so I need to send you an updated address
