  1. LOL, no, nothing like that. I supposedly pulled out of my sub without stopping so he hit the lights. I kept going because I had no mirrors (they had both been broken as a result of me doing some "freestyling" with the moped lol). So he had to turn on the siren, which I didn't hear because I had my headphones at a teenage volume level. I imagine that was quite a sight for cars near us at the time: Cop chasing the teenager on a moped with lights & siren blaring! He was none-too-pleased with me but I answered very honesty when he asked me if I had heard the siren. Ahhhh yes, the days of our youth. Oh yeah, no ticket was issued.
  2. I think my Dad used to have a Vespa scooter for a while. I used to deliver the Detroit Free Press in the mornings before school on a moped just like this one. I dunno about the miles-per-gallon but it seemed to go forever and a week on just a drop. Even though 28/29 mph was its top speed I still got pulled over a few times. One time they even had to use the siren! [6]
  3. Glenn, I agree with your assessment 100%. I too was disappointed in the Pens for the behavior they exhibited last night. I'm sure they are pretty disheartened by their failure to score a goal in the series but this is not the way to express that frustration. I would feel the same way if it had been the Wings resorting to that sort of beer-league tactics. On another note: I have to give Osgood major kudos for his goaltending since taking over for Hasek. The guy has been nothing short of incredible. Sure, the Wings have had a few lucky breaks around the net but Osgood has also made some HUGE saves. Babcock made a great call in replacing Hasek with Osgood.
  4. That scene was just laughably stupid. Reminded me of the scene in Pirates II when he's tied to the (pole) and falling off the cliff.
  5. I may have to eat crow for this later but I'm thinking that this is going to be a much shorter series than most are anticipating.
  6. Don't you mean V? Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull... Yes, V. Funny how your mind works sometimes. Maybe I wasn't giving this one the same status as the other three.
  7. Greg, I agree 100%. Horrible movie. It's one of those where you keep waiting for it to get started and it never really does. I thought the same thing for the new Narnia movie, Prince Caspian although PC was more entertaining than Indy III. BTW, I think they're planning on an Indy IV.
  8. I think I could actually feel his pain. Ya got me. What's NSFW?
  9. Awesome win for the Wings tonight propelling them to the Finals. Go Wings!!!
  10. Clarence started out at 75% off. Wonder where that put him on clearance?
  11. There's a link for those wanting to purchase tickets on the Detroit Red Wings team website. Here's a link: http://redwings.nhl.com/
  12. I think I just aged about 10 years. Thanks, Duke! BTW, you can watch the video in full screen mode with the link that Duke provided.
  13. LOL @ Tomas Holmstrom!!!! I have not seen anything that funny watching hockey in quite some time. Usually you see a forward juking a goalie out of his jock; Tomas just juked himself out of his own jock!
  14. Saw this movie last night and really enjoyed it. I thought it was very entertaining throughout. [Y][Y] For those who have not yet seen it; you'll want to stay until the credits finish rolling. There's a short blip at the very end...
  15. Thanks. Have you found any major differences between the units? I'm really tempted by the Integra.
  16. Patrick, Congratulations (condolences?) on giving away your daughter in marriage. I'm sure this day comes with bittersweet emotions. Enjoy your weekend and time away!
  17. Check out this site as well. It often has lots of good information. http://www.dpreview.com/
  18. Would I be correct to assume that there is a price difference between the two?
  19. It did $100 mil domestic and ANOTHER $100 mil overseas. That has to rank right up there with the best of them for an opening weekend, no?
  20. In the spirit of injecting further humor at this point (might as well cheer Whamo up as best we can). Take a picture of a large caliber handgun pointed at the woofer. Underneath the photo.... "Pay up or the woofer get's it". Sign it "Vinnie".... You are a funny man, GLA51! []
  21. Only seen the previews but this looks like a good one. Robert Downey Jr has always been a favorite of mine. It was unfortunate to watch his life crumbling due to his addiction(s) but also nice to see him turning things around.
  22. You just hit the nail on the head, Cornered. Darren McCarty was quoted in the paper last week and commented on the strengths of the current team and compared it to the Cup-winning teams in the past. He listed several key attributes of each of those teams and I was surprised that puck-control was not one of the things he mentioned. Neither was team defense. IMHO the combination of those two attributes were probably a larger factor in the Cup wins than anything else. This Wings team possesses both of those attributes which is one of the primary reasons that they have made it thus far. Sure, they are playing a physical game and have a good balance of highly skilled players, defensive specialists and so forth (which are some of the ingredients that Darren mentioned) but puck-control and team defense are the two components driving the bus. Thursday??????? I'm ready right now!!! Go Wings!!!!!!!!
  23. damon-awesome! Did you consider Jubilees? (I don't recall whether or not you've heard them).
