  1. What year did they start calling patch cords interconnects? Years ago at any store they were called patch cords. hoggy
  2. That is kind of funny. Bet your wife/girlfriend didn't think so though. hoggy hehehehehe
  3. I agree with Gary. Sometimes the cd does sound better but mostly I still enjoy the LP more. LPs that were engineered poorly sound horrible on the better equiptment. Than again you cannot beat a good LP. In fact most of the CD's I own were bought to replace those badly mixed/mastered LP's. hoggy
  4. hehehehe budabuda buda that's all folks. Hehehe Please don't ban me : 0 ( hoggy
  5. Would the moderator please delete my post. The JPEG is way too big. Sorry for the messup. hoggy
  6. oops way to big. sorry guys forgot to resize. I'll try to delete post. hoggy
  7. Finally got around to taking some of mine. hoggy
  8. As long as you don't clip the tweeters there should be no problem. At least I hope there isn't. MC352 350 watts. I've run my Belles at over 150 but not continuos and not just a few times in the 28yrs I've owned them. OTOH I have not unsoldered the diodes either. hoggy
  9. I have read a few posts about capping off unused RCA plugs. Although I don't get any cross talk it did make sence to me to use something over the rca connectors to keep out dust etc. I have found a very inexpensive way to do just that. They're called screw caps I believe. They are made in carious sizes to go over the ends of screw/bolts to protect someone from injuring themselve should one bump into the end of the bolt. They are made out of what seems to be soft rubber but I think they may contain some soft vinyl too. Buy them in 5/16 size at your local hardware store. I bought 50 of them for under $10. Not sure if they're color coded but I think they are. The 5/16 size are green. These may be just as good as the cardas caps in both protecting from dust but because of the material they're made of may also keep out ESD etc. Hmmm maybe I should buy a bazillion of them and sell them as RCA caps. hoggy
  10. I once started to write a book. Title was "How to get away with Murder". It was going to be a full size book. When you opened it up all the pages contained nothing but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.$$$$$$$. This was right after the OJ Simpson trial. hoggy
  11. Maybe the new Belles are rated at 103db but the older ones like mine are rated at 104. Also the older Belles go down to 45hz(rated to 45-17k where the newer are at 54 -17k). Not a clue why unless it has something to do with the x-overs and drivers and maybe non metal horns. hoggy
  12. I'm not electrically inclined and know very little about watts, ampredge etc, but I think it's the ampredge(spelling) that's the heat culprit, but I'm probably completely wrong. It's like volts, it's not the volts but the amps that kill ya. Ok you electricians out there what's the deal? hoggy
  13. Know what you mean Dale. 350 McIntosh watts here .005 distortion from .35milwatts (yes miliwatts) to 350 watts continuous. Can play my Belles a softly or as loudly as I want. Nothing like opening her up once in awhile. Of course finding a spot to put this 105lb monster was a challange until I found a nice wood file cabinent. Works great. hoggy
  14. I figure he could run about 179356023 pairs of Khorns/Belles and LaSalas with those, anyone care to dispute. hehehe Just kidding. BTW what a wireing nightmare that must have been. I'd hate to peek behind all that gear. hoggy
  15. hehehe---yeaaahaaaaa. And yes I do like my Mac. hoggy
  16. Basically an LP12 without the sophisicated suspension. The arm was Linns ecomo model at the time but works pretty good with MM Carts although some say MC's work too. Other than that small bit of info I really don't know the table at all. hoggy
  17. I'd have to say I looked at both those links. Looks to me they are both black. If you look closely I think you are seeing the refection of the flash makeing them look whiteish. I have taken many photos (own a Nikon D1x) and have seen that many times. hoggy
  18. lynnm You got that right. hehehe Much worse "but the other edge of the sword is that poorly engineered crap can sound worse than it would on ordinary playback equipment." Hmmm maybe I need to setup anothewr sytem that is very poor to listen to all those poorly engineered LPs I own. Most due to being way too compressed. hoggy
