    What I Got Today!

Oh yes, the M1 Garand. One of my favorites. I shoot one in the CMP Garand matches. Both of my sons got one for their HS graduation present from dad (me). Congratulations History Kid. Is yours a Springfield or Harrington & Richardson or IHC? Did you have to wait long to get it?

    Spy vs Spy

    Thank goodness for lamp shades.

    Bingo Night

Very cool, Steve! Great performance. I see you even have your own IMDb page. Any more films in the works?
  4. I did go to the website, and misunderstood that it was just adjusting the size and hosting the photo like any other host site. OK, I'll give that a try. Thanks. Giving it a try. Neuschwanstein Castle photo that I took in 2013.
  5. Looks like a solution to: You have used all of the attachment space you are allowed. Manage Attachments to free up space
  6. Ludwig II's Neuschwanstein Castle. Shot in 2013. Never mind. Tried to embed a photo, but I cannot even do that since I have no space left on this forum. I could delete all my Pilgrimage photos I posted over the years, but I'll leave those for historical purposes and just never post anything else, I guess. Really a woeful policy by the forum management.
  7. https://www.texasmonthly.com/the-culture/r-i-p-dp-1891-2012/ I know people who would make regular runs from Fort Worth to Dublin to get their Dr Pepper by the case. It tasted better and may have been marginally less unhealthy than HFCS sweetened beverages.
  8. It was like drinking a shot of liquid cigar ashes. Don't get me wrong, I like a little peat in my scotch, but Octomore is over the top.
  9. I had a shot of Octomore 8.3 a while back. At 300+ ppm, that stuff will kill about anything.
  10. I wouldn't know, and I don't think I want to find out.
  11. Probably can get necessary tools on Amazon. Can't get the necessary skills on Amazon.

  14. RIP. He played a great character in one of my favorite TV shows as a child. He became a cop later in life.
  15. We had haircuts today for the first time since early March. A stylist that my wife has used for 35 years came to the house. We sat on our own stool in the kitchen and everyone wore masks. For everyone's piece of mind, I did a forehead temperature screening with an infrared thermometer before we started. Hopefully, we didn't let the wolf in. I was fine going longer without a haircut, my wife was not.
  16. Yeah, I considered that but the formation seems almost too perfectly nested together considering the altitude difference that would have been required to get that exact perspective. Also, in that video, the only significant cloud cover seen over NYC is in that still shot at 8:21, which would have been necessary to add to blend the images while hiding the obvious discrepancies in the ground features. I may be wrong, but I still think it is a composite image. That takes nothing away from the spectacular display of those two teams flying together. Excellent video.
  17. I'm calling BS on this photo. The F/A-18 (Blue Angels) is a significantly larger aircraft than the F-16 (Thunderbirds). In the photo, the F-16 clearly appears larger. Obviously a Photoshopped composite image of two formations. (From Wikipedia) F/A-18 General characteristics • Length: 60 ft 1¼ in (18.31 m) • Wingspan: 44 ft 8½ in (13.62 m) • Height: 16 ft (4.88 m) • Wing area: 500 ft2 (46.5 m2) • Empty weight: 32,081 lb (14,552 kg) F-16 General characteristics • Length: 49 ft 5 in (15.06 m) • Wingspan: 32 ft 8 in (9.96 m) • Height: 16 ft (4.9 m) • Wing area: 300 sq ft (28 m2) • Empty weight: 18,900 lb (8,573 kg)
  18. I got out to see the Blue Angels flyover today to honor coronavirus first responders (today is National Nurses Day). I shot this short video near DFW airport just after they had circled over Dallas. A few minutes later they circled over Fort Worth where they flew over the hospital district where my wife works, then off to Houston and New Orleans.
  19. Does the human survive? I find it hard to believe that it could be effective at killing all surface pathogens without being harmful to the person.
  20. Today I booked the Super 8 through Hotels.com for that weekend. $50 per night with free cancellation (or $42 with no cancellation). I'll be arriving on Thursday. Really looking forward to getting this pandemic behind us.
  21. Just great. Now they say dogs can get it.
  22. Interesting. I used to take Ranitidine for occasional heartburn per doctor's recommendation. Then it got pulled off the market due to cancer concerns, so I switched to Famotidine. Now I suppose Famotidine will become one of those hard to find products. Guess I will have to go back to Tums.
