I'm looking for a pair of B&C DE75-8 P horn drivers. I've actually got the horn part, just need the drivers, but I understand if you have both and don't want to split them up. I'm gonna start a fun project to build a pair of kpt-904s for the living room, custom building the cabinets out of oak or maple and making them purdy. I've already got the woofers and horns, main ingredient I lack is the drivers, so let me know.

What are the dimensions of the boxes? Also the width and height of the opening? -
Pro ceiling speakers anyone know anything about them?
plissken99 posted a topic in Klipsch Pro Audio
So I'm looking to the future with Atmos set ups, so I'll be needing ceiling speakers. I was thinking the reference ceiling speakers would likely go fine with my set up, but then I just saw that there are Pro ceiling speakers lol. The 650, the 525 and the 400. Has anyone heard them, or know anything about pricing?- 1 reply

Is Klipsch at CEDIA this year (2014)?
plissken99 replied to Zen Traveler's topic in General Klipsch Info
Sadly no.. one of these days I'll have to make a pilgrimage to Hope, Arkansas. -
I do not have a price quote from anyone, but a google search turned one up for sale at $1280!! Didn't say whether it was a pair or a single, I cannot imagine its a single.

A guy in garage sale was selling the kp-250 speakers which from what I could see we're nearly identical to the kpt-250s, I almost jumped on it, but they don't match any other speakers I'm looking at. Dan the man is hooking me up with ki-272 speakers that use the same horns as both the 12-vbs and 1201s!
-
I had not, they are almost as expensive as the 12-vb's. Hard to tell what the difference is. Interestingly a guy just put a pair of kp-2500c's for sale. As he says their the same as the kp-250's, which in turn appear to be nearly identical to the kpt-250's spec wise, only in a different form. Might be perfect for rears.

Am I wrong in thinking those speakers would be comparable to the KPT-250 II surrounds? -

Klipsch KPT-904-M for sale ($500 Denver, Co)
plissken99 replied to plissken99's topic in Garage Sale
Everyone keep in mind I can have it in Tulsa soon, possibly even Kansas City, MO. -
Actually I'm thinking I like the direct radiating sound vs the diffuse type sound the 12-vb's would put out, I may do 1201's for sides and rears. I'll start with a pair of 1201's on the side and see how I like them.

Yep 510 horns with B&C drivers. Porn_Star, if you consider Tulsa, OK close enough my dad is coming to visit soon, and will be headed back to Tulsa, he could take the 904 with him no problem. -
I ended up with one more 904 than I needed so I'm putting it up for sale at the price I paid for it. Works perfectly, as you'll read here on the forums you won't find a better speaker anywhere near this price range. These are $1500 new from Klipsch. Local pickup only.

Well turns out Dan doesn't have the right horns and drivers to make another 904, so I'll be putting up a single 904 for sale soon.
-
BTW if there's anyone in the Colorado Springs, you can come help for free beer. I've decided to set up the 904s as surrounds, but hold off on building them into look pretty. I'll try them out for a while, if I feel like it could be better, I'll order the VB-12's.

We're moving to the new house in 3 weeks, right now I just have a pair set up in the living room with our lowly 50in plasma tv. I'll have to finish the basement myself in the new house so it'll be a while. I'll be chronicling the whole thing though.
-
Getting the 904s up up higher would be relatively easy. I was thinking of building simple columns around them, drywall on either side and speaker grill cloth down the front, floor to ceiling. All I'd have to do is build a stand to raise them up more within the column. I'd much rather use 12-vbs as sides rather than 1201s. Yes their a lot more expensive but I feel like I'm going all out with a 904 based system, what's another few hundred bucks? But yeah if I decide to go with vb-12s I'll still build another 904 and put a pair up for sale.

Hate to keep asking questions, but more input is always wanted. I have 4 904s, two for mains and two for surrounds and enough parts for a 5th when I build a cabinet(or get one built). Until fate delivered me enough 904s I'd been planning on the 12-vb's. I'll have the room with for 904s as surrounds, I tested them today in the living room as surrounds and they aren't overwhelming. Question is, would the 12-vb's simply be better suited for surround use?

Holy crap that is almost the same story lol. It was the grand opening of UE for me as well. My mom actually walked out of that room and told me not to go in there, she was right lol. Only it was a $9,999 Sharp dlp projector in my location. Seeing that set up was my 1st real reason I wanted to seek employment! And indeed this whole trading up to pro audio has taught me valuable lessons of not buying new when possible. I got 4 used 904s at the same price as a pair of the RF-7's.

I guess I'm a continuation of Klipsch legacy. My dad romantically told the story of when he 1st heard K-Horns at a stereo shop in Dallas in the 60's many times and fell madly in love with them, though he couldn't afford them before love and marriage came along, so he never got them. When I walked into Ultimate Electronics and saw Lord of the Rings playing on a killer front projector set up, I was blown away by the audio, when I saw the speakers were Klipsch(RF-7's), I couldn't help but smile... and buy them. Now I've got 904s that sound as good as K-Horns, I'm in heaven! I won't be passing on the Klipsch legacy myself though, staying single allows me afford this stuff lol. Speaking of which, Scrappy, I hope you disinfected the sub, can't handle those kid germs.
