nice french la liberté i think i will have to change my signature now, because i know there some french here just one question: why do lot of people here write doudou divided in two parts like this: dou dou??

be carreful with the fans: you know it make some noise, but it also create some magnetical noise, and if your amp is to close or if some cable are too close it can bring some strange noises to your system.

the benefit of this setup are: -less chances of clipping -the amps are used at a low level (instead of one amp at high level), so less distortion for the same output sound. you can test inverting the amps of the lows and mids/highs, may be the sound will be better.

putting two speakers of 8 ohm in parallel is like one speaker of 4ohm be carrefull!!! and don t set your amp at +Xdb for the center but decrease the output for your lascalas.

i think that psg is right. and with a sub the best is to make some tests. you may prefer the RC7 set to small or large only you can know this.

you say that all reference is up...i m not sure.i really think a pair of SF2 is better than a pair of RB10. they are lots of upgrades possible for you: you can buy some SF2 to replace your surrounds.change your amp,... and if you want to change to another line, don t forget the heritage speakers.you can find some heritage speakers for less money than brand new reference speakers. any way i think sound a matter of taste. the best is to listen before you buy.

i m not sur the SS1 will match a reference speaker. the synergy and the reference line are totaly different.

don t worry about the power of your receiver, even if your speaker is 50w and your receiver is 200w you cannot damage your speakers except if you re silly.if you overdrive your speakers it sound so bad that you turn your amp down immediatly.and before overiding the speakers your ears will blow: my amp is 65W per channels and i listen to my klipsch system at arround -50 or -45db and it s loud enough for me. with 120w you can drive any klipsch speakers.

the old SS1 should match, they have the same crossover frequency as your speakers. their sensitivity is hoghier than your speakers so you just have to lewer the rear volum on your AV. i own some SS1 (not the brand new) and they do their job perfectly.they are perfect for money they cost.

the size of the speaker is not the only condition for a perfect match: the crossover frequencies are very important too!! you re thinking about the synergy serie, is it the new synergy line or the old one? the new one have a better look but i think the spec are not as good as the old synergy.especially the sensitivity is lower than the old SS1.so you will have to decrease the output level for your main and center speaker.

what is the DDTS you speak about? may be the output the 2.1 is plug to carries the center and the LFE channel:that s why one speaker works and the other not and why the 2.1 provide better bass than the 4.1 try to invert the 4.1 and the 2.1, i bet the 4.1 willget more bass with one speaker not working and the 2.1 will work fine with less bass.

i bet you know that the front center is the most important chanel in HT. if nothing comes from the second 2.1 speakers and you use this second speaker as a rear center, you can use the wal 2.1 a the front center. you just need a Y adaptator.

any way if you love these speakers they will probably sound good anywhere. and i cannot say don t buy them: my SF1 system was first in a little flat of only one room of 25m². i listened to music sat on the floor between my bed and the cooking place now i live in a bigger flat and they sound better. so even if them don t give their best today...may be in a futur house your RF7 will be perfect.

i agree... what i would mean is that sometimes you don t have to spent too much money if you can have the same sound for less money. there is another point of view: you can buy big speakers now in tour small room and the day you will change of house they will may be have a larger room

i ve always heard that when we have a speaker with an amp, to have +3 db we have to double the power and the driver. if we have a pair of RF3 and an amp, to have +3 db we have to get a second par of RF3 and a second amp of the same power... it may be wrong... now i m confused...i don t know wich theory is correct

so now,i know that i m not alone...thanks the ear for the +3 or +6 db, i think that testing with a spl meters is show not a lot of things, because the room in woch you have make some tests is not a perfect room, there is some cancellation, some reverberation, resonance... the +6 db can be du to a resonance and if someone get +3db by doubling a sub it can be because of some cancelation. so formica, if i understand your explanation, when whe double the area of a speaker with the same power it s +3dB.if we double the power with the same area it s +3db and if the both are doubled it s +6dB... it s seems logical.thanks for me when we double a driver it s +3db but i ve forgot that the power
