  1. My RXV 3000 also has the direct mode. It often sounds amazing with my Lascalas.
  2. So if I just run the phono into my integrated amp and tape out to the recorder it wont work or what?
  3. I am in the process of purchasing a CD recorder to use for copying LPs and the like. Are the copies really as good as a regular CD? Do the quality of recording equipment have a lot to do with the quality?
  4. Thanks very much for everyones advice. When I got home last night the wife had gotten the player to work and watching The Sound of Music with a friend. She was not sure how she repaired it eather.thanks dan
  5. I am not at home now but its about a year old with the digits 275 in the model number. It also plays SACD's. thanks dan
  6. I have been in the setup menu several times. I am sure that its something that I have overlooked but I just can't figure it out. The unit is a SONY midline unit.
  7. Has anyone had any experence with an optical cable going bad under normal use conditions? My DVD player has suddenly stopped working in the Dolby Digital of DTS mode. My cable box still works just in these modes.
  8. I think that it would be great to get togeather for a Klipsch listening party in the Atlanta area. Please keep us informed.arguy1247@aol.com
  9. I live about 100 miles south of Atlanta in Warner Robins. Kens stereo in Macon have new Heresys and a new pair of Lascalas in stock. I was in the store on Thursday July 22. Good Luck
  10. One of my first and best audio trades was a pair of 901's for a pair of Cornwalls. Oh and the guy gave me 150.00 to boot.
  11. Since I have just upgraded from Heresys to Lascalas I can tell you that the Heresys were great the Lascalas are more of a good thing. Sometimes I feel that the bass is missing until I hear music with good clean acustic bass and it is super clean and realistic. There also good with movies and various types of music.
  12. Iam currently using a Sunfire MK IV with a pair of Lascalas and wondering if anyone else had a simular setup. I usually turn off the sub for music listening and turn it on for movies. I was wondering what crossover points others use as well as how the phase is adjusted. The sub is placed on the front wall between the speakers which are located on corners.
  13. In the opinions of those who have heard both does a newer model khorn, lascala, etc. sound any different that a simular model made say twenty years ago or so. I was just wondering in regards to improved drivers, crossovers, etc..
  14. I was wondering if anyone has had any experence with the McIntosh MHT 100 reciever using heritage model speakers?
  15. Which is better, the three wire component connections or the one that looks like it has computer type connections? I would be intrested in hearing from someone who has tried both.
  16. Several persons on the forum suggested tubes for my new Lascalas. I found a VAA model 100 in a used shop and have been using it for a couple of weeks. They we correct, tubes are better with these speakers.
  17. Iwonder what happened to UBID? They used to sell Klipsch products.
  18. Once you get used to the big speaker sound nothing is ever the same. Hang on to the khorns at all cost. Dan
  19. Just a question. How does the quality of workmanship and parts today compare with those of the past? thanks Dan
  20. I may be an extreme case but does any ever look and wonder why they sold or traded treasures from the past. Purchased new Heresys in the 1980's. Sold to a friend. Traded a pair of Bose 901's for a mint pair of Cornwalls. Later sold these when I moved to a smaller place. Purchased a pair of Lascalas for 500.00. Traded for KLF-30's. Traded for two Def Tch subs with two Heresys purchased at a pawn shop. Sold Heresys and purchased a pair of 3.5's. Purchased a LF-10 sub (bad move). Sold on ebay. Sold the 3.5's to a friend. Purchased a pair of used Heresys which I just traded for a new pair of Lascalas. I think I should have stopped about half way.Dan
  21. I am using a yamaha RXV 3000. The sound is very clean but a little zingy sometimes. I was just thinking of a seperate amp just for the Lascalas.dan
  22. Using my home theater reciver my new Lascalas sound pretty good in the two channel mode. I am wondering if there would be an advantage to using the preamp out puts on the reviver to power a seperate power amp, day an adcom or other good but middle of the road power amp? thanks dan
  23. I actually have two systems. One with Mcintosh and Magnepan components and one with the Lascalas and a yammie 3000 reciever. I have a sunfire sub connected with the Lascalas but find that I use it less and less with the new speakers. I have considered using a seperate power amp with the Lascalas and using the receiver as a preamp. I also notice that the new speakers can be biamped. I was wondering it anyone has had experence with this. I replaced a pair of Heresys when getting the Lascalas. One more thing. I found that the new set up sounds better in two channel than in DTS or Dolby surround. Hmmm. thanks dan
  24. So I wonder into my local audio shop the other day looking for a used pair of Lascalas or Cornwalls. Lo and behold there were a new pair or black Lascalas. The temptation was too much to bear and I purchased them. I was wondering that Klipsch speakers require a break in period like some others do. Some others like Magnepans take a long time to come to life. They do seem to sound better each time I play them.
