  1. Yeah, that was fun!

  3. I know this is a little late in the game, but a good song for some pure, outright, full volume blasting with plenty of dynamics, bass, and speed is..... Europe - Final Countdown. According to my Rat-Shck SPL meter at me seat (about 10 feet away), it's between 104 - 107dB!!!!!! LOUD!!!!!! Another good one is Billy Idol - Eyes Without A Face

You ship the bad one back, he recieves it within a week and a half, says he'll get a new one out to you A.S.A.P., and it's been how long since that, a month or two?! I'm sorry but that's NOT "being handled in a courteous, proffessional manner". That schmuck has not intensions on getting that other amp out to you any faster than the first one, if at all. I'm sure other members here probably agree with me.

Yo-Yo Ma said he felt, as with most instrument "modernizations," some things are gained and some are lost, but he didn't say what. Leo---------------- Curious... What exactly do you mean by "support pin"? Are you refurring to the sound post inside the instrument? If so, that seems weird because the sound post is there for both transcending the sound from the front to the back of the cello, and to help "support" the front of the instrument from caving in due to the forces of the strings pushing down on the bridge, although not it's main function. The only other thing I can possibly think of is the end-pin that holds the cello off the floor. But if that's the case, wouldn't that mean the Stradivarius sat too low to play comfortably? Maybe that's why Yo-Yo only played one peice on that cello. In case you're wondering, I played string bass in school for seven years, and was first chair for six of those years, winning "All County" and "All State" four years in a row.

In the process, he would crawl on top of the interconnects and pull them out of the equipment, so....... hence the foam wrap. Plus, I think it gives it a unique classy look and cancels out 4th order harmonic distortions at 1/3 octave steps!!! Not really, but oh well, it sounded good anyway. Again, let's get off the married B.S. since it has nothing to do with me or this thread.

If things don't 'work out', and the marriage goes south, she gets half of everything! Even the Lava Lamp! ---------------- Yeah, well.... Considering I'm not even seeing anyone at the moment, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. However, there's this little cuttie that comes in my store all the time, asking for me to help her. Yesterday when she came in, she made it quite clear to me that she was single! Hmmm........ She's probably interested in my huge 15" "Pyle" driver(s). LOL

Both of our sub setups sure look good on the balance sheet, though - when you explain to her what you would need to spend to get equal output in a smaller package, the big subs become much more attractive ---------------- So true on both of those!! LOL!
  9. You could buy and be very happy with a really nice Yamaha reciever for $1000. Heck, I bought my Yammie RX-V740 reciever right after it came out, brand new model, for less than 500 bucks, it sounds a heck of a lot better than my old HK AVR55 I replaced, which was over $800 when I bought it.

If not, try it sometime, then see how long those last ---------------- No I'm not married. And if I was, I surely wouldn't let her tell me what I could or couldn't do with my system. Besides, since I would be dating her first, I would imagine I would know how she feels about it way before I would pop the big question to her. If she didn't like, then bye bye!
  11. Or, if you have a large room, want to build some subs for cheap, and do not have a wife, then maybe you could build yourself a pair of Dipole subs like mine. They have very very little interaction with the room modes, have an extremely flat response down to 16Hz, and costs no more than $200 for the four 15" drivers and wood! And I feel these subs are a perfect match for any speaker you mate them with.
  12. Now that's just wrong...... But funny!
  13. For one thing, that is a very nice, sharp, 32" Sony TV. Sure, it's 14 years old, but it has a better looking picture then some of the newer ones I've seen lately. As for the Cornwalls, those are the ones my bro jt1stcav has now. BTW, why do you say this is definately a man's system? Because I'm always switching things out and it takes up have of the room?!
  14. In the first picture, if you scroll all the way to the right....... Is it just me or does it look like the remote is floating in mid-air?!
  15. Lots and lots of pictures throughout the past 5 years. If you noticed, the ONLY thing that never got updated was the Lava Lamp!
  16. That would have to be one heck of a big refrigerator magnet to affect the whole screen! Maybe you got a faulty unit. My 32" Sony was made back in 1990 and still has an excellent picture. (knock on wood) Hopefully, you'll get it worked out.
  17. You gotta watch out for those stinking Kettle Drums. They'll getcha every time! Honestly though, I over threw my old 15" sub one time while listening to something with those Kettle Drums in it. It sounded good until I heard the voice coil slamming into the backplate. It sounded like someone taking a plastic cup and slamming it on a table real hard.

It comes across being very smooth through the KG 5.5 horns, full and natural midrange, and tight, detailed, well controlled bass. And that's all coming from a 100 watt p/c amp!!!
  19. "Its simple lines, its studied minimalism"..... I know exactly what you mean! I can't believe that monster 2005 amp only weighs in at 50lbs. My 2004 looks smaller and weighs 62lbs!!!

  21. Now that looks nice! Yeah, I noticed in your profile it said custom in-floor subs. They look like normal ported subs to me. Please explain.
