  1. Not a low tyre, a worn tyre AND it pulls overs and tell you it will no longer operate until replaced.
  2. Where has that ever happened in the real world, catastrophic failures caught and prevented by machine. You can catch most of it but never all of it. The rates will drop slow, over time, as more and more AV's get on the road and there becomes an actuarial basis to reduce rates. Once they have a car for sale, how long will the phase in period be? 10, 15 20 years? What was it for HDTV? 10 years right? If it's 20 years your rates will slowly go down, unless govt. eliminates the mandate to have car insurance or provides an incentitive to insurance consumers or sellers
  3. I don't see a public only model for a.long, long time. I think it will be individual ownership model with companies like UBER providing supplemental public access. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out. It would be nice just to have a car available at Level 4.
  4. It will go way down, I don't think it will go away entirely because maintenance will be the responsibility of the owner and any damages caused by failure to maintain it. I guess it could go away if the car.locked itself out everytime a warning light came on and new sensors were installed like electronic sensors on your tyres that will activate when they are bald and you won't be able to start your car unless you replace the tyres. When it happens it will probably start out as an exemption from the statute that requires people to insure their car. The exemption will be for having a certain level of autonomous vehicle. You will still need to carry um/uim coverage because of all of the uninsured in non-autonomous vehicles who will still be sharing the road with you.
  5. Yes you can, and would be. Your insurance company would have to bring in manufacturer as a third-party. Elevators are autonomous vehicles, like all things that require maintenance, they still fail and cause injuries. Will an autonomous vehicle know it is driving on bald tyres? That it can't stop in time because of worn brakes? I would just like a Level 4 car to be available, because I'm ready.
  6. Interesting article, any thoughts? https://pitchfork.com/thepitch/what-exactly-is-hi-res-audio-and-should-i-care-about-it/amp/
  7. It is showing black on white on my phone as per usual. The Olivia Newton-John jumped right off the page.
  8. Not really a shame, all of their profits go to education (MIT). Dr. Bose donated his controlling interest to MIT upon his death.
  9. Very sad to see a fellow Scotsman reach a much too early demise. Struggling for a few years. A truly great rhythm guitar player, one of the best. RIP Malcolm
  10. That quote was in response to @Deang indicating je though Roger Dean may have designed the sets and I was too sure. The Yes sets that Dean did were quite distinct.
  11. And how. The original stereo mix was mind blowing out ofnthe gate. Mason recorded many of the other first some special effects such as the running foot steps.
  12. The Mason book talks about this. Alan Parsons went to an antique clock shop and recorded each clock individually, and then mixed them together,
  13. Just remember two first names from the Who.
  14. Every tour since '72. DSOM '72 Tour--Winterland DSOM '73 Tour -- (St. PATRICK'S Day) Radio City Music Hall Wish You Were Here -- Cow Palace (2X) In the Flesh (Animals) Oakland Coliseum (2X) The Wall -- LA A Momentary Lapse of Reason-- Austin (2X) Division Bell -- Dallas (X2) and Oakland Coliseum Are you sure about that. He did some Yes sets, I don't think he did anything for Floyd, but Oakland was inside so we had slightly different configuration. We had the pig, but no explosion. Airplane or rocket ship that crashed and exploded. A family, refrigerator, etc. The program credited those inflatables to a couple of guys. Great show. The jet fly over would have been cool to see.
  15. Where does Meddle fit in?
  16. Thanks Rudy. I will see if they do business in Austin area, or have someone they recommend. This has been the dilemma. There is a very wide range of product available to do this. From one box kits in Home Depot to 4 coat systems with chips that you can drive six x six military vehicles on. They have epoxy floors you can be literally safe to eat off of. I am looking for something that will hold up to residential garage use, and have a nice shine. Travis
  17. SW sells a urethane product in their line that will minimize the yellowing. I think you can just clean and apply, no other prep and it will put a hold on the yellowing. That is the one downside to epoxy, UV will yellow it if you don't put a protective top coat.
  18. Black and Silver Paint was what I was thinking. There are several brands and systems available out there, was just checking to see if anyone had one they liked.
  19. Anyone paint, or have their garage floor painted with epoxy paint product system with good results? Along those lines, does anyone have any recommendations for garage cabinets? Thanks in advance, Travis
  20. Doorbell has rung 23 times tonight, I swear it is same 5 groups of 4. I found the Esquire article. https://www.google.com/amp/www.esquire.com/news-politics/amp16681/elon-musk-interview-1212/
  21. I think his conceptual thinking in terms of engines was that they needed them. After he spoke to Mueller he realized he could build them cheaper and he could make money as a launch company.
  22. They do belong to SpaceX, SpaceX is the assignee, just as Roy Delgado is on his patents and they are all assigned to KGI. Musk's Tesla patents are in his name, with Tesla as assignee. His mother says he has always wanted to go to Mars. Like most geniuses ( I suspect) he thought it might be best to send a mouse first. Travis
