  1. The link I gave is previous post is worth a look, he has before and after photos and his "before" looks very similar to yours.
  2. Novus plastic cleaner is the 3 step system. Here is another way http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/polishing-a-scratched-tt-dust-cover.220994/
  3. I always heard that 3 step system of plastic cleaner that guitar players use is the best way for restoring record players. It has been posted on here before, let me see if I can find it.
  4. O was afraid you were going to say that, I recall you do your research prior to leaping. I know it's out of warranty, any luck with customer service. Wondering if they would offer any kind of a generous trade in to keep your loyalty. I'm not totally cynical yet, I do believe there is still hope that companies are in it for the long run. The AG office in Texad has a consumer complaint line, dependin on the issue they have got a lot of people some favorable result. I think it is a matter of having a similar complaint. I hate buying those after market warranties that best buy and everyo e sells, I figure if I am buying right product it will have a problem in girst monnth and they will stand behind it.
  5. Damn that must have been some system. I'm sorry to hear that you totaled the car, I'm glad your still here to tell us about it though! It's ghetto by today's standards but back in the early 90's it was pretty cool, especially for somebody making barely over $4 an hour. They published it in Auto Sound and Security magazine. Didn't show it but the subs had mirrors inside the box, you could remove the chevy symbol and look in, due to the mirrors it looked like there were twelve 12's floating in there. 2 gauge welding cable for wiring, I loved that part. Blue LEDs under vehicle, you were ahead of your time.
  6. Always liked great sound in my vehicles. Last few cars came with awesone factory systems. Jaguar had great sound, Lincoln has Thx certified movie audio, Mark Levinson, etc. I thought I might upgrade when I saw Roy's son's car where he installed some massive Klipsch 3way, maybe Heresy, but I think a little different. At the Sema shows and CES shows they always had sound contests, etc. I'm looking more at how it sounds going down the road.
  7. Hey Travis! Yeah, I got some rest at my brothers place. He is a Tax Attorney here in Columbus and is doing well, he has two clients worth at least 8 figures, one of them is a Shotenstein of the "Shot" OSU sports complex fame. Can't wait to see you in May, where are you staying? and when are you coming in? MKP, please tell the BOSS I am sorry she is having that alergic reaction from that kiss she planted on me a few posts back! When are you two arriving at Rodney's??? Last night at work this week, then it is home bound at 8 am for 1 hour & 50 minutes to see the family. Everybody have a great Friday, and drink a warm, read not "HOT" cup for me! Rog Tried to answer this earlier but I was getting that dreaded database error message.
  8. I watched a couple of episodes, couldn't get into the rhythm of it at the time. I am a big fan of Viking history, took a couple of courses on it, etc. and didn't catch the series at right time to catch the historical part of it. Maybe first seasons are on netflix and I can start from beginning and ramp up. It really amazes me how much of a difference it can make at what point you pick up a series can make a hugh difference in whether or not you stick with it. Netflix has allowed me to go back and catch a lot of great series that I avoided because I was too late to the table. Breaking Bad was one recent example.
  9. From Coleman, they say it is ok, but unleaded gas doesn't burn as clean, clogs the "generator" tube, but ok to use. http://coleman.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/61/~/overview-of-difference-between-unleaded-fuel-and-coleman%C2%AE-fuel Interesting, they say don't use the unleaded gas in Canada, it will eat the tank? What's with gas in Canada? I wonder why the premium back in the day didn't have lead. I always thought, based on old movies and TV if you wanted premium you said "fill it with Ethyl", then there would be a dumb joke about ethyl, but that ethyl was leaded?
  10. Low octane with no additives so no lubrication value; IMO, not recommendedAgree with that, about a 50 octane rating, which will obviously result in knocking.I know that's not good, that results in burned valves? Holed piston? Posted that I didn't really know if applicable. Back when I was young, American stations "premium" was unleaded and white gas, quite clear. We bought it for use in Coleman's as it burned cleanly in them, which is why I thought perhaps Coleman fuel was the same. Dave Now that you mention it, I heard people say you could use unleaded gas in a Coleman all the time. There is another name for Coleman fuel, is it Naptha, something close to that?
  11. I actually love the sound of that Clearaudio Virtuoso so I am no help on that, if it can be retipped reliably and for those prices I would probably go that route. I tend to stay with what I like.
  12. I don't know, mine doesn't have pistons?I had a car once way back when that loved Unocal 93, and that started to disappear and I was on a trip where I could only find 89 or 90, and going up hill, at altitude (normally aspirated) I could hear/feel knocking, backed of and it disappeared. No idea what was happening inside. In flight training we were taught never to use lower rated gas and this was the reason for the coloring of the gas, red, blue, green, etc., in order to avoid knocking and then they showed us photos of holes burned in the tops of pistons, burnt valves, broken rods. It left an impression.

  14. A good place to start would be killing off the "Ethanol Lobbyist" who are coddling your states fed. representatives. I think that if the general population were more informed about the truth surrounding ethanol and took the time to research the facts themselves without listening to any of the lobbyist's, that would be a good start, but it's become rather difficult to research certain information because it's become so tainted with slanted views that the "collective" won't ever do that, on ethanol or really any issue. Then, we get to listen to candidates put in there two cents (most cases without any facts either) and when Trump made the comment a month or so ago (and this isn't political or have anything to do with how I vote but just a completely ignorant comment) that he supports increased production and use of "Ethanol" and it's good for the country, blah, blah , blah...................I was stating loudly at the time "You fucting idiot". Thanks! I fell much better now! You got the idiot part right, but it was a different idiot: Today, President Bush signed the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, which will improve vehicle fuel economy and help reduce U.S. dependence on oil.The bill the President signed today responds to the challenge of his bold "Twenty in Ten" initiative, which President Bush announced in January. It represents a major step forward in expanding the production of renewable fuels, reducing our dependence on oil, and confronting global climate change. It will increase our energy security, expand the production of renewable fuels, and make America stronger. . . . That Act has a ramp up that goes for 4 more years and requires 36 Billion gallons of bio fuels to be consumed annually by 2020.
  15. So I am curious, I often use Consumer Reports to make purchase decisions like these. Does anyone know what this model was rated by CR?

  18. I had same issue just now on a samsung tablet using Chrome.
  19. +1 It was a real eye opener. It was certainly slanted, but there is some truth in the middle, and the middle is scarry enough.
  20. Misty rain in Austin this morning. Nesspresso machine, excellant coffee. Everyone have a great day.

  22. The ill you describe is part of the political law-making process. Famous words in a case whose name I forget: "The power to tax is the power to destroy." Congress' power is very, very broad. A suit like that would not fly. I think that was Daniel Webster's argument in McColluch v. Maryland and Marshal adopted that argument in the decision in overturning Maryland's attempt to tax the Second National Bank branch located in MD. I seem to remember that the attempts to have a taxpayer class-action get blown out over "standing." Cohen comes to mind, but decades since i looked at it.
