  1. Happy Birthday Eldon, Sorry I missed it, and the Muffulettas. Travis
  2. If you have not already been given this link, you should give these guys a try. http://www.audioholics.com/education/cables/hdmi-1-3-cables-bitrate However, as with anything, try and find at least a couple of articles on any one subject to try and sort through the hype and misinformation. I like the audioholics site because it is a good place to START if I want to try and understand something. Travis
  3. Must be Friday night. Got my lawn chair, ice chest, binos and chips. Everything I need to sit back and watch the fireworks on this thread. Travis
  4. Joe, Thank you for the quick reply, I sent Ron an email and will wait to hear from him. Now you need to get set up so that you can hear these reissues on Klipsch speakers in a good system. I am sure Allan Songer will accomodate you, you are in SoCal correct? Allan in in the Long Beach area, has a killer system, and most, if not all, of the original BST you are going to reissue. You need to hear these through Klipsch herritage speakers, preferably KHorns. My guess is that you and your colleague would be over at Allan's all day. Travis
  5. Joe, Do you know if Acoustic Sounds, Elusive Disk or the other two outlets are going to be offering the series in a subscription format so the buyer can keep the same serial numbers throughout. Acoustic Sounds did this on their Fantasy 45 series, you could subscribe to the whole issue which allowed you to have same serial numbers. I really hope you will consider that, and if we need to do it direct, just let me know where to send the check. Travis
  6. Two VRD's @ 5 each is 10 A BBX, going from memory at the office, Rectifier tube, a 6DJ8, a line stage, two in the phono stage is 5. So a total of 15, at least that is what I am going to vote in the poll. Travis
  7. Welcome Back, and more importantly, CONGRATULATIONS. Travis
  8. I would think only a handful on that page would qualify. I think a lot of that stuff is made for shows like CES, or with regard to the german horn companys, for the big shows in Europe. I don't think it is ever intended to really be a "production speaker." However, the Wilson X-2s sell, I think there are about 10 pair in Austin alone (I am not a big fan of them, I don't see it at all), and those Magico Ultimates have sold more then 10 pair, there is a waiting list to get them, Mr. Wolf is quite a horn man. I heard they are absolutely incredible. His 20K studio monitors are in pretty good demand all by themselves. T
  9. Glad to hear Otis made it out of the woods on that deal too. I am familar with blaso now that you said it was a fungus. When we took Malcolm to A&M and looked at the radiographs they said it was either cancer or vary advanced fungal infection, there was no way to tell for sure without a biopsy. They also said at that stage the treatment for an advanced fungal infection was the same at cancer, chemotherapy that ends up almost killing the dog in order to kill off the fungus. Very, very poor prognosis. We had the necropsy done, which was ruled out, I would have died if we had failed to notice breathing problems and let it go. Moral of the story, if your dog lives near a wooded area, starts wheezing or having other breathing problems you should have them checked out right away. It was great you did all of that follow up until they caught it on Oddie. I am really glad to hear he is doing well. Travis
  10. It was the an official factory McIntosh store. Nothing but Mac, can you believe it? Where did you go to high school there? Travis
  11. We're talking about the possibility of hosting an open house to give you guys an opportunity to listen, if there is interest. I'll start a separate post about it as decisions are made. I'm there, Hope or Indy, if it well before CES. Otherwise I will see them there I am sure, along with 10,000 of my closest friends. Travis Don't count on CES for public consumption. Not saying it won't happen, but don't count on it. Wow really? They are going to be in Denver right? T
  12. I always loved Oddie, I was bummed when you bumped him on the Avtar. I am sorry if I missed it, but what is the story with O's Blasto-Mycosis, has he beaten that too I hope? Travis

  14. Per Amy: "And it turns out the atomic number for the element palladium is 46." I didn't take Chem., I was more into cutting up things, so I can't say beyond that. Well, on second thought, my birthday last week could have something to do with it, but that would just be a coincidence. Travis
  15. You want to know what I think? O.k. nevermind, I am going to tell you anyway. Based on these most recent press releases, I think the Elves in Hope and Indy have been getting very busy for the CEDIA show in Sept. Atomic No. of 46 for Palladium, can't be a coincidence. If I live to be 110, [] , Ithink I will have P-39F's. 8/22/2007 Klipsch Enters Earphone Market With Several Proprietary Technologies 8/22/2007 Klipsch Unveils IMAGE: Worlds Smallest, Lightest In-Ear Earphones 8/20/2007 Klipsch Palladium Floorstander a Symbol of Supreme Luxury 8/20/2007 Klipsch Icon Series Speakers a Sound Fit for Flat-Panel Displays 8/20/2007 Klipsch Rocks
  16. Whoa GARY and DTEL, Did you hear that? Gary, you got $7,500 KHorns on this forum for free and DTEL got CWIII for free, you can't get inversely bigger that that[] I think I will wait for the Klipsh earphones to come out. Travis
  17. I dunno, will it be that inefficient? Nope, but there has to be a reason they are using a name from the Aragon family. Maybe they are going to start building tube amps in China? T
  18. Whoa Jim, That brought back some memories. I bought a pair of Klipsch speakers from the Upper Ear (right around the corner from Westgate Drugs). A cigar if you can tell me what that was before it was the Upper Ear. Travis
  19. I would be a bit wary of this. over time the magnet will make itself apparent on the veneer, probably a round circle. What difference would that make? You don't see it with the grilles on, and with them off, you would see the magnets anyway with exposed magnets say like the Forte II's. Yeah, and magnets are known to cure cancer, headaches, and improve your golf swing. However, for 15K speakers this would be good to know ahead of time. Travis
  20. Yeah, I guess y'all are real familar with the Palladium name[:|] Here we go with the cross-branding, vertical intergration stuff. Whoa boy, this is going to be a fun ride. http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/palladium-1k.aspx Palladium 1K Monoblock Amplifier You have selected a Klipsch Classic product. 21. Go to silversmithaudio.com for palladium speakerwire. Travis
  22. These weigh over 200 lbs each. Amy, is there ANY information you can give us regarding the first available time to demo them? Will we just have to wait until they hit the dealer? jc Doc, Can you get any time off between Sept. 5 and 9th off? If you can get a day or two I have a hunch where they might have these on display for us to check out. I have not confirmed they will be in Denver, but it is no coincidence that these were anounced to the public in August. I don't believe in coincidences. If you can get the time I will confirm whether they will be there or not for us to go take a listen with a few thousand other of Klipsch's faithfull. Travis
  23. Hey Travis, Actually, we do have the name Palladium trademarked, so yes. And it turns out the atomic number for the element palladium is 46. Coincidence? [] Below is an article from C/Net News on 1/24/2003 about Microsoft Palladium discussing that Microsoft dropped the name, in part, because of possible litigation over the trademark, maybe Fred got the big guns after Bill? In addition there is a Palladium in every town, including the most famous one of all in London (other then the original one of course), I have a pair of Palladium shoes, from the Palladium Shoe Co. It doesn't matter though, I can get over the name and just call them "P-39F's". I don't believe in coincidences, it must be meant to be that I have P-39F's. Travis This was from C/Net News on 1/24/2003: Microsoft has dropped the code name of its controversial security technology, Palladium, in favor of this buzzword-bloated tongue twister: "next-generation secure computing base." On Friday, the company said that the name Palladium had become tarnished by controversy surrounding some elements of Microsoft's security push. In additional, it faced a potential legal battle with a small firm over the Palladium name. "The official story--and it's true--is that we intended to change the name for a long time," said Mario Juarez, product manager for Microsoft's Windows Trusted Platform Technologies Group. "The fact that it was something that got a lot of attention and gave rise to a lot of misunderstanding" was also a factor, he said. Microsoft unveiled Palladium last summer with the goal of allowing companies to wall off data, secure communications, and to identify their systems and those of business partners. Critics, however, argue that the technology can also be used to restrict access to data. For example, a text document could be restricted to being accessible by only the application that created it. To address the criticism, the company has decided to release the source code of the core part of the software, known as the nub or nexus, so that others can verify it is secure and is doing only what the company has claimed. Microsoft's Juarez dismissed any suggestions that the name change implied that the company was trying to dodge criticism. "That's not the reason that we are doing it," he said. "This is really reflective of the fact that Microsoft is embracing this technology in terms of folding it into Windows for the next decade." In addition, a potential lawsuit by a small firm that he wasn't allowed to name was also a major factor, Juarez said. "Another company has laid a claim to the trademark of Palladium," he said. The name change comes a day after Chairman Bill Gates sent a memo to Microsoft's customers outlining the company's progress towards securing its Windows products. The memo foreshadowed the name change by referring to Palladium as the initial name for the technology. "Looking ahead, we are working on a new hardware/software architecture for the Windows PC platform (initially code-named 'Palladium'), which will significantly enhance the integrity, privacy and data security of computer systems by eliminating many 'weak links,'" Gates wrote in the memo. Despite the controversy surrounding the technology, few technical details of the technology have been released.
  24. Hey jc, I don't have any information at this time. We will probably plan an "open house" informal event so forum members can come listen at our headquarters when the rest of the line is ready, but obviously that would be more ideal for people in this area. More details to come... JC, Looks like there is going to be more and more of an excuse for you and me to go to Las Vegas in Jan. Amy: I hope this helps (Response to email I sent to Srajan Ebaen of 6 Moons review site) here is the link http://www.6moons.com/news/news.html: Indeed. Thx Travis, just added it to news room page - Srajan Ebaen Publisher, 6moons.com +357/99843650 Coral Bay, Cyprus
