  1. Sounds like your happy with your set up why change? I only have very old HK stuff. I have an integrated amp and is a wonderful amp and sounds well with legends, but its twenty years old or more. If you like the sound stick with it! Hk used to make a great product but I know nothing about the new stuff? The legend is a good speaker and will bring out the best in your electronics.
  2. I have the KLF-10's like them alot. Purchased SF-3's The SF-3's sound better than the KLF-10's side by side. Using same power amp, Same room, same positions. The sf-3 has an overall smoother sound. The eight inch woofers really suprised me ecspecially with cabinet size as a factor. Actually have more punch than the 10 inchers in klf'S. Defies logic. I believe klipsch took the RF-3 and made the SF-3 out of it using woofer materials as used in klf series with aluminum tweeters. The specs ,size, wieght, everything identical. Just no pretty gold color.
  3. Klipsch took the RF-3 and made the SF-3 out of it using speaker materials used in older Klipsch models such as the legend series. They are identical in every way except speaker cones. When you listen at best buy Your hearing the lousy sony rec. Compare the sf-3 and rf-3 using same amp. The SF-3's cones are good quality just older technology.
  4. The SF-3's are the same as RF series other than woofer material and tweeter is aluminum. Cabinets are same tech. They sound the same very little difference. The Sf-3 is not as cool looking thats it! I guess everyone who has bought Klipsch in the past and don't have pretty gold woofers and titanium tweeters should get rid of them and buy the RF series? There are alot better speakers by klipsch made well before the RF series and use what the RF owners I guess would call sub standard materials. Could you imagine owning a paper composite cone? Worked well for years I thought? Listen to the speakers with an open mind. Pretend there at a fancy store maybe that will help.
  5. The RF series are better looking . The sf-3 sounds as good! basically same speaker. Cabinets are the same tech. too. Uses older material for woofers as used in KLF LEGEND SERIES. Only the RF-7 is better $2000 a pair. I have sf-3 and love them . I also Have KLF LEGEND 10's . The sf-3 sounds better. The legends have a little better bass output (very little diference). I like the SF-3 better.
  6. Sf-3 are much better than sf-2 I have them and love them. Not much diference between SF-3 AND RF series. BUT THEY SURE DO MAKE THE RF OWNERS MAD!!! Only the RF-7 is worth the extra money. (Its only ashame they dont make an SF-5 with daul 10 inchers) I have a pair of KLF 10 LEGENDS and like the SF-3 better.
  7. Find your local authorized Klipsch warranty center , they'll have them for sale. Place near me would recone existing woofers with Klipsch cones and surrounds cheaper than new woofers.
  8. I though all RF series are wood veneer and only synergy series are vinyl. ( Maybe wrong). Contact klipsch by email with serial #'s and ask. They'll gladly tell you if their veneer or not. I have a pair of KLF-10's that are veneer and a pair of synergy SF-3's that are vinyl. Pretty hard to tell difference(both black ash).
  9. If their new speakers dont touch them. Send them back. Call the dealer and tell them about the problem. Any authorized dealer will replace no questions asked. Why would you even consider excepting damaged goods? Hey if you think you can fix ,at least see if they'll discount them for you. I would demand a new speaker!
  10. Keep the amp . nothing wrong with that amp. Adcom makes good stuff. The gfa5800 is a powerhouse. The new adcoms (yours) are warmer than the orginals. If its to bright save some money and pick up a used EQ. Or simply turn the treble down a bit. (if you have tone controls).
  11. I have a int. Hk amp from 80's much better amp than present amps, and rec. Hk has lost their reputation for clean power and high current design. They changed to compete with the japanese. Just as many co's have done. Compare the specs. of their old stuff to the new its amazing!
  12. I power KLF-10's with an adcom gfa555II. The adcom II is warmer than org 555. works well for me. Stereophile Just did a review of a new adcom amp. said much warmer and better than older adcoms. Very powerful and inexpensive
