  1. Keep your mind on the Rotel RB-1080 it's an excellent choice with the Klipsch RF-7. I have two Rotel RB-1090's and I'm very happy with the sound quality, very stunning. You will love the Klipsch/Rotel combo. What ever you do, don't let others ster you away from this combo, it's that good!!
  2. Hi tkdamerica, Thanks for the offer but I wouldn't give up my RF-7's. I use to own a set of Cornwalls and La Scalas before, so I'm very familiar with those two models, yet I would not be without a set of RF-7's. The picture was taken during the time I was testing every thing during the first 30 days for the equipment and speakers, now I have them setup properly without the grey foams on the bottoms! I've had this setup for about 1½ years. Thanks!
  3. Great to see others enjoying the RF-7's as much as I. I am still amazed and stunned by the quality of sound I get back from them, so much so, that I have 3 Pairs of RF-7's (6 speakers). Enjoy your new purchase, the sound is going to amaze you.
  4. I suggest to ignor sunburnwilly, he is showing self doubts and signs of really wanting those shinny cones!
  5. wstrickland1, it's all balls down to perference, Heritage (PA Quality) or Reference (Sudio Quality). (Heresys ate the RF 7s for lunch), is not a very accurate way of putting it.
  6. (2each) 2-channel systems (Rotel) and 3-pair of Klipsch RF-7's (6-speakers) Both Rotel Systems are identical: Rotel RB-1090 Amp Rotel RC-1090 Pre Rotel RCD-1072 CD-Player Rotel RT-1080 Tuner Sound is amazing! I'm stunned every day that I sit down for a listen! Love the Klipsch / Rotel match.
  7. klipschaholik, wow - it is a small world! You don't find many people from Alexandria, Louisiana! I grew up there too, at the same time you did! Hmmm, wonder if I know you.
  8. I compared the RB-1080 and RB-1090 side by side and there is a difference between the two. If one wants the added detail for the upper and lower end, deeper bass, and over-all improvement to the sound the RB-1090 is the way to go, it's not just about the 380wpc gain. I've run less with the RF-7's and like I've said, it's a certain sound quality to the sound with a higher power amp, and yes the RF-7's respond beautifully to it. The RB-1090 does an excellent job with great deep power bass that just doesn't happen on a less wpc that I've tried. *but "one of the finest amplifiers available at any price from any manufacturer" is a bit much...* minn_male42, It might sound a bit much but I'm only quoting from what description many places put next to the RB-1090, I think they word it like this to give one the idea of just how good of an amp it is. Even when I read that, it had me a little stumped on just how or what they meant by that of how it's worded?? Gets one's attention and makes you wonder though!
  9. "What the RF-7 can't do is overwhelm a listening room with its majestic presence, create a boundless soundstage, or make you forget you're listening to speakers." I disagree, the RF-7's can do this too, and does for me all the time. It's true that the Klipschorn's does have a big sound but the RF-7's can hold their own too and when it's heard it makes quite an effect on family and friends that amaze and stun them. It's BIG and LIVE sounding, it's the reason why I bought the RF-7's.
  10. The Rotel RB-1090 is hard to find used because people just don't give them up very often. I've seen them going used for $1000 to $1300. Yes, it does have handles, the front is considered handles when you turn it on it's back panel where there are feet that holds it upward for moving. Yes, you can plug the RB-1090 into a normal wall socket, works great. The built-in wheels is a great feature for getting the RB-1090 moved easily into position. No, the RB-1090 is not an over-kill for the Klipsch RF-7. There is a certain quality to the sound that you get from that kind of power but you have to experience it to understand it. It also gives the RF-7's great deep powerful bass that the RF-7's is capable of. The RB-1090 has two 1.25kVA transformers, 8 soup can size capacitors, has excellent superb sound and has been said the RB-1090 is recognized as one of the finest amplifiers available at any price from any manufacturer, a real hidden jewel and a bargin price with performance that would cost you 6x to 8x the cost from others.
  11. The Rotel RB-1090 goes very well with the Klipsch RF-7. It's a very stunning sound quality with this combo. You can go to the Klipsch site and look under the dealer location for your area and see who carries the reference line in your surrounding area.
  12. Believe me, it's real. I don't think photoshop could edit that well without being where you could tell? Family members thought I went crazy! After they heard them, they understand now. Some even went and got the same setup and had me help them set it up since they were so stunned with the sound. I'm not running any sub woofers, you don't need to! The bass produced is thunderous, deep, tight, and taut. I can't imagine anyone wanting more bass than this, it's all the glass windows can handle in this house! Here's what it looks like with the covers on the speakers.
  13. I like the RF-7's so much over the ole Khorns, that I have 3-pair. I'm going to add one more pair soon so I have two pair on each amp and then move one of the systems to my office upstairs in the house so I can listen while I'm working too. They are quite stunning!
  14. Another angle of 3-pairs of Klipsch RF-7 speakers of mine.
  15. The correct way is in an L shape, covering the back of the woofers magnets and running down to the bottom across floor of speaker. The bass ports should never be blocked! Push it in, all the way to the woofers. I have 3-pair of RF-7's all together and they all came the correct way except for one that popped forward, blocking the bass port.
