  1. I watched it myself. I thought Neil's performances and the songs were great! I'm glad to see that he is still going!
  2. No that was pre-Randy Jackson. Ross Valory, the original bassist was still with them.
  3. I picked this up last week and watched it last night. For a recording made in '81 the sound is very good. I found that I had to turn up my sub a little though as the bass was a little weak. But the performances are very good with a nice drum solo by Steve Smith and a guitar solo by Neal Schon. I think Neal is one of the greatest guitar players of his generation and perhaps somewhat underappreciated. Anyhow fans of Journey and classic rock should definitly check this out. Crank it up and take youself back to 1981!!!
  4. Well I sat down and watched it last night. To me the colors are more vibrant and the picture is a little sharper. I really enjoyed the new DTS ES mix on the new version!!
  5. Wow I am surprised I thought there would be alot of responses to this thread. Come on people I thought everyone loved this film!
  6. I bought this today at Best Buy even though I already owned the original Toy Story 2 pack. It has Dolby Digital EX and DTS ES surround this time around and the picture quality is supposed to be improved. Of all the great animated films of the recent past, this is still my favorite! It came with a coupon for $3.00 off a purchase of the Incredibles and also $3.00 off the Toy Story 2 specail edition which comes out Dec. 26th. I can't wait to sit down and watch this in DTS ES this weekend![]
  7. Don't feel bad jacksonbart, I am a NY Mets fan and after just getting swept by the Braves they are all but out of the wildcard race. Man they had that game won and once again Braden Looper blew it for them. And after getting Carlos Beltran for all that money he is batting .264 with 16 homers and about 60 rbi's. Well once again I'm saying "we'll get 'em next year".
  8. $3.29 a gallon for rwgular in Lexington, NC. (near Winston-Salem) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. The store in Greensboro, NC has a very good selection of titles in a separate rack. Yesterday I bought Air Force One, Hollow Man, MIB I and II, and Spiderman. I am tempted to go back today and buy more!!
  10. I forgot to mention an I-link input in addition to the Denon link input.
  11. Hey everyone I stumbled across this info while visiting another forum. It appears to be the same as the 3805 except the inclusion of 1 DVI input, 2 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. It is nice to see HDMI switching at this price point. Check it out at : http://www.avland.co.uk/denon/avr3806/avr-3806.htm
  12. I too disagree with you sputnik on Saturday Night Fever but definitly DO agree with Urban Cowboy! I have probably seen that movie 50 times. I even go as far as to look at it and consider purchasing it when I go to Best Buy but haven't yet. I don't know what it is about that movie that sucks me in but I need to get over it lol!
  13. It seems to me that HT receivers would have more power reserves if they had 1 capacitor per channel. Am I right in assuming this? As far as I know they all have 2.

    Mr. 3000

Thanks for the review! I have been thinking about at least renting this movie as I love baseball and baseball movies. I will have to rent it this weekend.
  15. I used to own the 45A and to me the sound quality for the price was exceptional. However the picture quality is not up to par with other players that cost the same or even less.
  16. I live in Lexington,NC and I would love to have a pair of them. However, I just got hired to work in the new Dell Computer plant in Winston-Salem and will be leaving to Nashville Tenn. for a month of training. In the unlikly event you still have a pair when i get back I would drive to pick them up.
  17. Anyone know when Denon will come out with their 06 series of receivers? I see Crutchfield has the 05 line on sale so figured they must be ready to come out with the new models. I owned a 3801 in the past and I am very interested in seeing the updates to the 3805. Hopefully HDMI switching!!

    Stand By Me

Sorry, I figured EVERYBODY has seen this flick.

    Stand By Me

Yeah in the end when the narration tells what the characters made of there lives he says River's character was stabbed and killed in a restaurant.

    Stand By Me

I went to Best Buy today to buy a new DVD to watch. I decided on Stand By Me since I haven't seen it in awhile. I purchased the newer Deluxe Edition. I am so glad I did! This is one of the all time great coming of age movies with fantastic performances by all the young actors. It is so sad now the way it ends with River Phoenix's character dying since he himself is dead. The booklet and CD are nice bonuses to the set. My only dissapointment is that the soundtrack is still only Dolby Digital mono though it sounds fine and is probably adequete for this type of movie.
  22. I have many favorites, but I would say Peter Frampton - Live In Detroit and Norah Jones - Live In New Orleans are my favorite 2.
  23. I'm not so sure I would knock the new ES's quite yet. I did further research on the 3100 and found that they have done away with the Digital Amplifier of the 3000. Also the weight of the unit went from 29 lbs. to 46.3 lbs. Quite a difference and probably indicates a much better amplifier section. While I do think they could have added a 3rd component input, I think it a minor issue because HDMI is really where the future is at. I am not sticking up for Sony I just don't think people should judge a product until they have seen and heard it.
  24. Where you live, I might be interested in the HK?
