Enjoying online gaming last night when all of a sudden, power to my HT went out. When I tried to power up everything, the powercenter wouldn't turn on and was emitting a continous sound. Tried to reset the unit but to no avail. It's a good thing I have a Triplite as a backup surge and line conditioner so I plugged all my HT stuff in there. Whew! All was working just fine. Called Monster support and told me that the unit took a huge surge/spike hit and I have to return it back so they can replace it with a "NEW" one. I'm glad I have that protection than none at all. It was worth the money IMO.

So I have these 3 units I got from SONY free (using SONY cards rewards). Besides the DVD upconverter, the SACD player is a great have!! A MUST HAVE!!!

I live 6 miles from my office so this lunch break, got the interconnect from RS (RS Gold brand - $12 and change for 3 cables). Connected everything and PRESTO!!! OMG, the sound reproducton is so crystal clear, it's just unbelievable. I'm sold!!! No more CDs from now on. []

I had the impression that the sound would come from the optical cable all along...geeezzeee...was I wrong. I did go through the manual for both the SACD and my receiver and figured out how to connect them both by using mult-channel input of the receiver (as aslo pointed out by sunburn and edwin on the other postings). I read specs of the unit from Amazon, Sony Style but as I have said, it was planted on my mind for some reason that the connection would be optical only. I'll be getting the interconnects and finally get to listen and hear the difference once I have em.....can't wait!!! [] BTW, when you say interconnects, are these the ordinary A/V RCA cables and not the one that comes with the SVS subwoofer (bettercables brand) or are they basically the same? Thanks all.

My speakers are connected to my receiver. How would I do that?

I'm so excited I got my new Sony SACD player (Model SCD-CE595). I rearranged my component rack and added the unit. Fixed all my wirings and started to listen to "The Carpenters Singles 1969-1981 SACD" connected via OPTICAL OUT to my Yamaha RXV1500. Initially play I was saying to myself that the SACD really sounded great. Ohh boy...wait until the wifey hears this. [] I then compared it to my 2 DVD players and, I was a little confused. Somehow, I think there's no difference at all[*-)]. I started tinkering with the unit. It plays when in CD mode but not on SACD mode. I then turned to the manual. Page 8 says it all....."Only the audio signals of conventional CDs can be output from the DIGITAL (CD) OPTICAL OUT connector..." Well how do you lke that? This unit is totally useless to me! [:@]

Got my xbox last Monday. Boy this unit spells W-O-W!!!! I have been playing Call of Duty 2 fps. Never tried the headphones but the surround localizes the noise the enemy makes. For example, I noticed that I would know my enemy is coming from behind because the rear speakers will make the noises (L or R or both). The same is true if the enemy is coming from my front (L or R or both). When I first run the basic training of the game, I was facing the commander and he was talking, sounds coming from the front speakers. I turned my back and his speech transfered to the rears and sounded. Really awesome IMO. Never connected my PS2 to my HT so I may have been missing a lot all along - hehe. So far the only "bad" thing I can say about the xbox360 is that it makes me play the game online until 2-3 AM in the morning, wake up 6 AM to prepare the kids for school, then go to work by 8:30. What a life!! Why can't we just stay at home and play!!!

Don't worry - you won't hurt your speakers. Use an optical-out from the Xbox into your HT and you'll be blown away. Great!! - exactly what I wanted to hear! Tnx.

I have Reference 35 series and SVS sub (5.1) for my HT setup. I plan to use the same speakers and HDTV when my Xbox360 arrives and will be used exclusively for gaming. Basically, I'm wary of using my reference series for gaming because it might affect them in some way or another. Has anyone used them as such and lived to regret it after or is there no cause for concern at all? TIA

Watched it last night. Was expecting great "after burner boom sounds" from those mean looking futuristic fighter planes but it sounded, ahh, so-so. It's like if you rate it in comparison with the POD race from Star Wars I where 10 is the highest, I'll give it a "2". In short, this ,movie is a miserably failed TOP GUN wanna bee. On the other hand, Jessica Biel was the saving grace of the movie (for me). And the part that I loved the best is when she was in a 2-piece bathing suit and that was about it (hehe). She's really a hottie!!!!!

RIGHT ON THE MONEY! So go get cable or satellite with an HD channel. You'll be missing a lot if you don't- a WHOLE LOT!!!

I have the MP HTS 2000 MKII one and I like it. The unit or the (HTS 1000 MKII model fromt he link above) however DOES NOT regulate the voltage unike the Triplite LCR2400. I bought a separate voltage regulator (from APC) and plugged my 2000MK2 into it.

This software is really good however, it is limited to copying only DVDs to DVD-R if the size is approx up to 4.36 GB. If the DVD size is greater than this (ex. dual layer DVDs), then I believe this will not work for you.

I bought my Samsung 50" DLP locally. I did my research on the internet, printed a checkout page for the item, went to my local store and they priced matched it including the shipping less 5% of the difference. Also, I beleive that the best week to buy is around Thanksgiving.
