  10. Lol Carlooch you need another pair. I live across from Marshall middle school come by any time. I work at P&M Texaco and have for over 20 years. I want to replace the LaScalas with SVS Ultra Towers. I am trying to to put a home theater.
  11. These have been my main speakers for 12 years. I purchased these because they were more kid friendly now the kids have grown up ,and I can go with a more traditional speaker. They have upgraded crossovers from ALK Enginering Universal network. I am asking $1200.00 which includes delivery up to 200 miles from Beaumont Texas. If you would like you can pick them up for $1100.00.
  12. It has been months since I have finished my speakers. I have not had any desire to switch back to my LaScala's. The drifts have the most beautiful mid-range. Of course it does help to have a awesome SE EL 34 amp made by Tom http://www.wdox.com/ Brian
  13. Craig Sorry for the ignorance. Are you saying they put a 12.5 ohm resistor in series with the tweeter and then use 1.0 mfd cap. If I understand this that would make the impedance 20.5 ohm wright? I should try that out. That looks like 1st order 5500Hz Solen Split. Thanks
  14. Here is a pict. of the crossover. LOL Maby I should get a inductor.
  15. Dave Thanks for the info. I changed the cap to a 0.47 and I am still using the same taps. I think it sounds better. Do new woofers take time to brake in? Either they do are I am getting youst to them. Brian
  16. Wight now I am using 3636 autoformer taps Y and 2 with a 0.68uf cap. Nothing else and it soungs good.
  17. Dave thanks for confirming that for me. Now it is time to work in the crossover. Here is a finished pict.
  18. Thanks I was able to put on the last coat over the weekend. http://s292.photobucket.com/albums/mm24/brians7/?action=view&current=speaker005-1.jpg
  19. My projects always seem to take me forever. They are already loud with no drivers. I am going to try to build two crossovers and see witch I like more. A first order with a autoformer and second order with out autoformer at 4KHz. Brian http://s292.photobucket.com/albums/mm24/brians7/Mobile%20Uploads/?action=view&current=0911012045.jpg
  20. Thanks Dave. I made cabinet volume 2.9 cubic feet and the port 1.75x14x7 so it is loaded a little different. I will let you know how it works out. Brian
  21. I was inspired by Dave's speakers. So this weakend I built these speakers. It will use the same woffer and APT-150 super tweeter. Brian
  22. IF anybody is looking to buy a new tube amp you might check this out. tmamps.com I bought one of the JE Labs EL34 amps and it sounds like my Decware SE84CS amp with 8 watts instead of 1.5 watts and is cheaper to boot. Killer deal I think. Brian
  23. Just what I am looking for. I would be all over that.
  24. Ibuilt the spearkers according to Jensen's plans for the ultraflex with only one change. The internal volume is 13300cu. in. The duct area has to be 134sq. in. The plans called for the duct legth to be 8in. but I changed it to 10in. My speakers are 30in tall and 23in wide and 23in deep. It is tuned to 44Hz using Great Plains Audio 416-8C speaker. Thanks for the compliments Brian
