  1. Patrick, I'm glad it worked out for you! I was prepared to offer up a pair if it didn't..

You obviously dont need another set of mc30, perhaps being fairly new on the forum you dont realize that we try to help each other out here. Not cut the others throat, so we can show we have the largest collection. I tend to think of this forum as a brotherhood of people that help, and watch out for one another. As i think many of the members here do Joe ---------------- I do help other forum members and have backed out of several auctions at their request! If someone tells me they are interested, and their max bid, I stop bidding until the auction goes higher than their max bid. If it is lower than my max bid, I may still bid, but with their agreement. I believe the reserve price on this auction is considerably higher than I'm willing to go, but my last bid was just a bump-up bid at the challenge of another forum member... I don't intend to bid higher if he is interested...!? I also will work with other forum members that are interested in getting a pair of 30s, but don't want to do the epay thing. I agree we should help each other...

  6. ... I wonder what type of crossovers are installed, can she be bi-wired or bi-amped, what kind of cabling does she have and what speakers does she works best with...?
  7. Thanks everyone for the additional information. If I don't have any interest from the board by Friday, I will be posting them on epay.
  8. Patrick, I hope these work out for you! They look like pretty nice 30s from the pictures.
  9. I'm offering an AK-4 network that includes the doors to the bass bins with the networks, the K-55-X's, and the K-77-F's -- which would constitute the AK-4 Upgrade Kit. I've had the opportunity to listen to the AK-2, AK-4 and ALK-ESNs in my '88 Khorns and find that with my system set-up, I prefer the 'sound' of the ALKs. I'm using vintage tube amps, with JM Peach pre, a Njoe Tjoeb 4000 CDP and all in a pretty small room. These originally came from DeanG's Khorns: http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=62945&forumID=68&catID=19&search=1&searchstring=&sessionID={F89308EC-4589-427C-BEDA-42B9F0CF3282} I'm asking $1300.00, which is the shipped price (to the US).
  10. Tim, Glad they got there Ok!! Can you send them back now?? I need them as I am working toward having thirty pairs of MC30s.... (or was that supposed to be thirty MC30s..?) Enjoy...!
  11. The auction is real and the buyer has already paid for the amps! So any second chance offers are definately scams!!!
  12. Just got my 'second chance' offer for these....! What am I to do, they are sooooh nice and it's REALLY swell of the guy to give me a another opportunity to pick them up for a 'steal'...
  13. Well darn, I'm out for a bit of surgery for a day and look what I miss...! I'm not a serious collector, so personally, I would not have gone more than about $1,800, or so, for them! I would think that the close serial numbers would be the big draw for them, as I'm not sure they are as perfect as the pictures may portray! I actually have a soft spot for the 'less than perfect' MC30s...
  14. It's amazing what these guys (or gals) try..! Three days later and I still haven't heard anything from epay except that I'm using the wrong reporting system. They say the fraud is only 'active' auctions, so mine must be inactive since it's closed. An STILL no word from the seller.. :-)
  15. Just a heads up that someone is creating fraudulent auctions for MC30s (and a few other pieces of gear). I won an auction and noticed that another auction came on-line with a similar format, identical mis-spelling and same bad grammar. I did a search on the mis-spelled word (exelent) and found at least three other auctions that I reported as possible fraud. When I checked in the morning, they had been removed! I'm still waiting for an answer from the auction house on the one I won..! Surprisingly, the seller has not answered any of my emails since the end of this auction and the removal of the other auctions!
  16. Al, Would it also be true, with my McIntosh tube amps (MC30,MC40,MC240,MC225), to run them on the amps 4 ohm taps?
  17. Was working in the garage yesterday and noticed a new power cord.. so I'm thinking about this thread and decided to try to knit up a pair of them pants.. It took a good hour or so to get it right, but it was worth it! They are light, airy and I noticed the elderly lady next door smiles at me a lot now..
  18. This is an older pic, but it shows part of my computer desk, work bench, '88 Khorns, JM Peach and a couple of my McIntosh amplifiers...
  19. Not really so bad for Patrick. This pair is mismatched and the older one has a beat up power transformer. (I also paid way too much for the pair). So Patrick still may make out in the near future...
  20. I've added Patrick to my 30s list... Course we may still need to have his wife verify his worthiness...

Had the little english short guy in it from "10" ---------------- ...Crazy People! Yep, that's where I'm at and where my girlfriend is going...! I never really thought it would go this far, just wanted to get a tube amp that I could work-on that would sound good with my Khorns. As I fix them up, I'll most likely start selling them to fund my obssession!
  22. ---------------- On 5/26/2005 5:03:10 PM Timmikid wrote: It is this kind of madness that I like, so I could adopt! Joe, I think for mental balance you need 30 mc-30's! It would be insane, but very cool! ---------------- Timmikid, so with that logic, I would need 240 MC-240s, 225 MC-225s and 40 MC-40s.... I think I like that logic..

  24. Hi, my name is Joe and I'm a MacAholic My girlfriend has been trying to find some therapy for me since I started collecting vintage McIntosh amps in January: 2 MC-240 2 MC-225 1 MC-40 (with two more coming) 23 MC-30 (not including the two I gave up for adoption) When she says I need help, I say yes I do.. please help me move these amps over a bit to make room for this one that just came in.. :-)
