    CARS

watching it right now for the second time Also wanted to try this file attachment thing so check it out if i did it correctly
  2. Just what i needed to hear. Thank you both!! Now, if i could only find some decently priced ones up here in NH!
  3. I have found a pair of mint condition, black KLF-10s down the street from where I live. The problem is the seller wants $500 firm. Is that a bit much for the black finish? I told him I thought it was but wanted some other opinions. My other pair I picked up for $175 which I know was a steal, but I would rather wait than pay too much. Thoughts? Thanks!!
  4. Thanks for the heads up, if only it were a KLF-10 id be on it! []
  5. Anyone have a KLF10 they dont need and willing to ship to NH? Or I could pick it up in NH or MA. Looking for a single, pair or a converted center. Can pay cash, paypal or work out a trade for a C7 or Academy Thanks!
  6. Well at first i would just stand it upright in the center underneath my projector screen. ideally though eventually i would convert it to a center.
  7. Dont know why this thread posted twice, sorry!!
  8. So I know this is not exactly a new topic, but i have been wondering what would make a better center, a KLF-10 or a C7. I've read on here about success stories of turing a klf10 into a center, but is that really better than a C7 and if so, why? are there better components inside a 10? is it the cabinet size? I currently have KLF10 - C7 - KLF10 up front and have been thinking about the benefits of switching out the C7. Plus, they are pretty well in demand currently and could almost get a pair of 10s for the price of 1 C7, resulting in (sort of), a free speaker to use as a rear center. Interference and space are not issues for me. Any advice is as always, greatly appreciated.

  10. All depends what you're sending it to. my projector has a faroudja deinterlacer, so i leave my cheapy dvd player set to 480i, and let the projector do the heavy lifting. If you really cant see a difference, then i guess it's a moot point anyways, it's all about perception anyways
  11. If it were me id go with a set of quintet II's on ebay for approx 175 or so. Havent heard the new line but the specs seem a bit better on the older ones. Just my 2 cents
  12. Thanks for all the input everyone. Oldtimer if you can believe it i only paid $175 last winter for my klf-10s, plus $150 in Monster Cable. Crazy, i know. If i could find that deal again id buy them in a second I'm going to pass on the marantz because it's only 6.1 Looks like it's just a matter of preference in what should come next so im just going to wait until that perfect deal comes down the line. Thanks again!
  13. Hi all, I havent purchased any new gear in the last 6 months and am starting to get a little antsy. I have been building my system one piece at a time for the last half a decade when money has permitted and am up to the following setup: KLF10s KLF-C7 4 Quintets for surround (i know, i know...) Defintive Tech sub Onkyo TX-SR503 7.1 receiver (75wpc) Infocus 4805 projector There is a marantz sr6200 receiver for sale locally for 350. I am wondering, do i go for the receiver, or would i be much better off upgrading the rear surrounds with that same 350? I was thinking maybe a pair of ksf-s5's? Space is currently an issue but i wouldnt mind cramming something in my HT room if it meant sound would be drastically improved. How do marantz and onkyo compare? I've always had onkyo's and have been pretty happy but lately i feel dialog has been more shallow than it should be. Thanks for your opinion!!
  14. I'm pretty sure the original center was rated at 100 watts instead of 75. I dont think the satellites changed but i could be wrong about that one.
  15. Havent seen the infocus 4805 mentioned yet. I picked one up last year, and couldnt be happier with the PQ for the $. This is a DLP with a 4X color wheel. Rainbox effect is effectively eliminated. Im sure theres better out there in the 1k-2k range, but for the sub 1k price, its worth a look.
  16. I also have been putting together a HT on a budget over the years, slowly ugrading as i get more cash (who isnt?). I used to have ksf-8.5's with a C5 center, now have legends. KSFs are good speakers for the price that they can be had for nowadays. For a budget receiver, i recommend onkyo. Shopokyo sells refurb or discontinued models, all with warranties pretty cheap. I picked up a 75wpc 7.1 receiver for about $200. (SR503) For that price youre not getting the most powerful receiver in the world but with your really efficient speakers, you'll be just fine.
  17. You definately want to find a klf-C7 center. That is the correct matching center for your mains. There is usually one on ebay in the 300-350 range. Some people sell them on this forum as well. If you cant find one right away, be patient, it's worth the wait to have matching speakers up front. For surrounds there really isnt a perfect match for the KLF mains, except more KLFs. You could get towers if space isnt an issue. Some suggest running more C7s for surround which i imagine sounds pretty great. I'd also be willing to bet ksf-s5 rears would match pretty well. Dont know much about klipsch subs, but someone will chime in on that one. good luck
  18. Hi all, Looking for a KLF-C7 in black to complete my legend series HT. Would be willing to pick up in northeast if within reasonable distance, otherwise would need shipping to 03833 Exeter, NH. Thanks!
  19. She listed these and then decided a ways back not to sell the center and the rears. I've already got dibs on the c-7 if she ever changes her mind :^)
  20. Did you forget about me cause i called you a he? Sorry!! :^ )
  21. Sounds good to me maroon! Maybe if he doesnt want to ship it you could pick it up for me and i could pay for your time to send it out? Im just in NH so i am almost willing to drive to RI to get it, but that is a long way for 1 speaker.
  22. I am desperate for a C7. If you'd ship to NH I would definately be interested.
  23. I also would recommend the Infocus 4805. It is incredible. They can be had refurbished on ebay for around 700, which is a steal. Make sure you have a light controlled room though, they are definately not designed for use in daylight.
