  1. Pauln, Mine La-Scala's have i bought brand new in 2003 with the k-55 -x (Atlas ) driver and K-77 square magnet tweeter. I did'nt change the drivers and horns. When you are used to Heresy's you have to hear the La-Scala's aren't "right" ! ! Just forget the AL-4 crossover : The crossover between the midrange and tweeter is out of control . It was supposed to be round 4500 but what happened nobody knows ........it is very wild !! The impendance load is another story but your Amp would not be happy. Special when it is a Single Ended amp or any tube amp. The result is a very screaming tweet and the midrange doesn't "open" up the sound . You will miss a lot of detail........... The changes i had with the universal network is a faster Bass response . The midrange is very clear and lot of detail. You wil have a speaker where the Basshorn and squaker and tweet are more working together. That is the most important thing , you can't point out your tweeter . I have seen the network from Dean http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/646356/ShowPost.aspx I like the very massive construction. Even when your speaker is "new" there is always an upgrade . Benny
  2. Hi Michael , "They will tear your head clear off" It is almost a Dirty Harry movie from Clint Eastwood............ I don't think the Onkyo is to heavy . The quality could maybe a bit better but get first your LaScala's done ! Bennyboy
  3. Hello Jedo, Just what colterphoto1 said . And it is certain not a hopeless project !!! In januari Bob Crites comes up with a update tweeter for the K-77. He has all the parts. Just start with the cabinet .........Paint it Black .... Somewhere i saw this picture...........just beautiful. Bennyboy
  4. Guys, That stuff is made in the Netherlands like me. Some on the forum have cald me a loon but i don't care. But as you can see we are not that stupid...............[] It is a very fast sounding system and is free of distortion. You can look here : www.BD-Design.nl Bennyboy
  5. Maybe i am stupid now . But Dean, is it possible to run the trachorn to a frequency of 20 Khz. I have seen a driver from RCF . It is the N-850 for an two way set up . Bennyboy
  6. Thank you very much Bob !!! It is the same picture but i couldn't load it on the forum . Anyway , i am very curious so i will wait to januari . I need a lot of stuff to build a second pair La-Scala's . I can still play music so i have some time... You can put a Beyma CP-25 in but i think there is nothing wrong with the K-77. It does a better job to take over the midrange because of his strong low end. Bennyboy, thanks for your input JC
  7. Hello Bob, "I can fix you up with any drivers" Long ago i saw this tweeter with a double square magnet ! I think it was just for an experiment . Is it possible to do it again and is it worth the trouble . Thank you, Bennyboy
  8. I know the universal has one crossover frequency . But i thought he was selling the extreme slope network ? Now i am confused because for the prise i can get a new one from you .... Okay you have changed some parts but am i wrong ?? I am building another set La-Scala's that is why i need a lot of parts. The Bass horn with the "doghouse" is ready but it is still a long way to go... Bennyboy
  9. Hello MarkF, I might be intersted ! Because i have La-Scala's with the AL-4 crossover. I don't like the AL-4 network at all .... So i went to the Universal network from Al . It has the serienumber 172 A and B and it works great with the K-55X driver . You can drive it with a single ended 2A3 tube with only 3watt. But even with a lot of power you will be amazed. So i am a bit surprised when i see " ALK crossovers - For Sale " But can you tell the version you have ? I mean the crossover between woofer and midrange . It can be 500 ,600 , or 700hz......... Bennyboy
  10. Guys, Check this out ! Saw this on eBay and may just interesting ? Bennyboy http://cgi.ebay.nl/Klipsch-Heresy-Lautsprecherboxen_W0QQitemZ7556706721QQcategoryZ22062QQtcZphotoQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  11. Sunprairie, I know you have a RC-7 center. Have you ever used this center ? Bennyboy I think i have said this before ? ?
  12. It can be done . But you have to adjust the crossover . Don't expect miracles because there is nothing wrong with the K-77. Call in for an expert ...................DeanG ,Al Klappenberger ,Bob Crites . Bennyboy
  13. Gilbert, The La-Scala's looks very nice and they are from the first Owner !! Ofcourse it is just a picture and you should see them for real. I say go for it ! ! I think the La-Scala has a better sound over the Belle. The midrange from the La-Scala is the K-400 . Because of the bigger midrange horn , the La-Scala is more in balance. Bennyboy
  14. From Amsterdam to the importer takes another 27 miles ( 44 kilometer ). He is Frits de Vries and haven't seen him for a long time......... But he has the Klipschhorn with a beautiful KR-tube amp . He is be doing the Heritage-line for about 30 jears. You can always listen at his place even at Sunday. At least his Englisch is better as mine............ Dank u wel Bennyboy
  15. tdkamerica, The store in Almere is about 25 miles ( 40 kilometer) .
  16. I am glad you had a good time in the Netherlands. Because i am a fan of hornloaded speakers . So it is not difficult to find Klipsch . In the Netherlands are a select people with Klipsch speakers. Becides we can always Heritage speakers try out at home . I did not , I have listen the La-Scala at the importer . After five minutes i had to have them. www.audioimport.nl I agree it would be better when there are more stores with Heritage on the floor. Then more people would see them and maybe buy them ? The RC-7 center have i bought without hearing them. I don't think many people would do that .................... Bennyboy
  17. o`` ``oòóõö öö ööö I am sorry but i had to try it out how to make umlauts . Bennyboy "Don't worry about how little i know , You'll know how much i know in a minute ". (orange county)
  18. tdkamerica, Look for www.ruad-hifi.nl They have the complete RF-7 system. But you wil not find a dealer with the Heritage-line on the floor . Personally i don't see that as a problem . Because when you are interested you can always contact the importer. The Heritage line will always be the most important line for me . Now with the new Heritage even more . It is not a perfect speaker but the sound is overwhelming . I think for hometheater the RF-7 is a winner ! For stereo it is fantastic with great detail. Bennyboy
  19. Mzzi99, The budget is no issue.......... I wish i could say that ! ! ! ! Ben
  20. Sunprairie, I see you have a RC-7 . Just try it out !! Bennyboy
  21. The only decent thing on this Chinall is the crossover from Al Klappenberger. I hope it's not a copy also But i agree with Jon (cornwalled) : "I would be more confident with Klipsch."[] Ben
  22. Waiting on a nice cherry LaScala...................... Even when it is in a Heritage brochure. Bennyboy
  23. Have i said something wrong...............i hope not [*-)][8-)] Bennyboy After all you won't regret to buy Klipsch speakers ............
  24. Parrot, You just hit me before........... Amazing we think the same thing about it........ haha[]
