  1. I haven't been here in years, after I bought my 1980 Khorns! Sold the Khorns and bought the CW's! Right after I bought the CW's I was offered the Altec's Model 19's. In walnut and just prefer the vintage equipment. There is No doubt the CW's best the Model 19's but just prefer vintage. Come pick and hear them! I just bought these Beautiful Klipsch Cornwall IV's in late June (less then month ago)! These were bought new (not B stock or trade in) with boxes and manuals. Just after I bought these a guy I know wanted to sell me his Altec Model 19's! The Cornwalls are much better sounding but I'm more a vintage person. These cost 6600$ plus shipping and taxes, if you went to buy them. I'm offering a great firm price of 5200$ you come get them. There is not a mark on them and only a couple hours! Consecutive serial numbered! I'm 25 minutes East of Knoxville Tn by Pigeon Forge (Dollywood) If, using PayPal buyer pay the fees of approx 150$ THE ALTEC MODEL 19 IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE!! Trying to add pictures! But here is link. (hope allowed) https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649879288-klipsch-cornwalls-ivs-american-walnut-like-new-with-boxes-great-price/

  4. Around 72, I had a pair of JBL l200's bought from Crazy Eddie (NY) powered by Phase linear 400 & Harmon Kardon Citation II pre, Dual 1249 tunrtable. Love my Khorns but still think of that system!! Don't think I could give a proper comparision as things were a little cloudy in those days!!

  7. People aren't buying a pair of Marantz Model 2's just to listen to music. (ok, that's the second time I told you that!) Like I wrote to Dan, People who buy cars and audio equipment to make money are foolish, most don't, a very few do. Cars and equipment are only worth what the BUYER is willing to pay................... (ok, that's the second time I wrote that!) I can't believe that ANY piece of Audio Equipment is worth that money..............PERIOD.......unless you have so much money it doesn't matter to you. It is only a small percentage of people who would even consider buying that equipment........................You are in a MINORITY on this one...............Do you think anyone on this thread is going to buy that equipment? Are You ? You are entitled to your opinion................let me have mine. You can have your opinion. I never said you couldn't. I'm not talking about opinions. Just trying to drumb into your rock hard skull that people are not paying $6000 for these because of their audio capabilities (ok, third time). What don't you get about collectors items? but they do sound great!! You should hear my MC275 right now with a C22!!!
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=010&sspagename=STRK%3AMESO%3AIT&viewitem=&item=200048339227&rd=1&rd=1 I, hope you get it I, just sold this one!! If the right person in HK is watching this one will probably bring more!! I, have a pair of MC30s' that I kept over the 8b. I preferred the 30's over the 8b in my system. I paid $1200 for the 8b

  11. Never, listened too 7c but just got a nice deal on C22 (ebay #170016312611), just left Dewick's house after he looked it over (all org & clean) hooked it up with MC30s & Khorns, think I like it better than the C2200, except for the fact of having no remote. Seems, like you can get a C22 alot less then 7c's , also seems like the prices are better right now then in the fall/winter. C22 on Audiogon right now! Anyone, have any expericence with Creek remotes?thanks, jim
  12. Mike, congrats on your new speakers!! They look great in that room!! Can't wait for my invite to come over to hear them!! 13. Why, don't you consider a good used pr of Khorns, Dean , was selling a pr of 2003's.I, picked up a pr 1979's look almost brand new, had the org boxes, for $2500.If, you don't like them you can get all or most of your money back or pick up a used pr of 7's for 1200-1700
  14. Went a 1,025 miles round trip, picked up pair of khorns 81'sone owner in the org cartons. They look brand new, fantastic shape. Wife wasn't home when I got back, never showed her what they where going to look like.Hauled them out of the trailer& into the house by myself. Set them up, she would have freaked just seeing the cartons(huge). Pulled the magnepan & Dalquist Dq-10s out of the way, put them undertowels and dragged them to their corners. After she settled in a & heard them she said "now those I like"She dosen't know I'm going to have to get some different equip, right now I,have only ss. Anyway very happy, it was well worth it, every penny. When, I, load up some pics, I'll post. Thanks Dylan for offering to let me come by & hear your system, sorry, I, missed ya. Jim

  17. There is a new pair on Ebay, I, happen to know the reserve is $3900. Oak in the box.
  18. Thanks, I, may take you up on that!! I, know I, stepped up $$ but I'm willing to pay a little more for condition, like buying a used car. I've watched them go for 1700-3000,anyone who has kept the cartons for 25yrs, more than not has taken good care of them. I, think I'll be there Tues evening & picking up Wed morn.Thx for looking and helping out a new & excited "K" owner, it's seems some here won't take the time.
  19. Newbie, to Klipsch (check New Khorn owner Help, General Questions)also have opportunity to get Audio Research SP-11 pre-amp & CD, tip toes for speakers (suggestions & thoughts please). My, only exp is SS, in 70's I, had Phase linear 400 w/JBL L200's Harmon Kardon pre-amp, currently Phase linear 700II, w/Dalquist Dq-10's, 4000II phase pre-amp.Any suggestions greatly appreaciated, lokking for input on anything to be aware of when looking over new speakers before paying for & amps compatible for Audio pre-amp Thx Jim
  20. I, had too have them, going to Pa. from Knoxville, Tn next week. These were the pr on ebay that had the "polyphasered electronic changes" As, some suggested on here $2500 might have been a little high, but think sometimes you might have to pay a little extra for condition I, have talked to the (one owner early 70's)& these speakers should be immaculate, stored in the org cartons 1 1/2 yr heated basement. He bought them new in 1981, I, wanted to get a pr I, could drive to, instead of shipping because I, can still say no. If not as described. Anyway, what should I, look for when going over these speakers before paying? Also, how hard would it be to change back to org or upgrade the Xover. Thx Jim PS new pr listed on EBAY, with reserve set at $3900 pr
  21. Have a 2,000 empty basement, plenty of room, plan on finishing it for HT plus room. Wife, is freaking out about my speaker obession & size, but when I, find the right pr there coming home! Some, here say the ones on Ebay asking $2500.00 are a little high, but most of the ones I, see listed are out west. If, these are "mint" the price would seem fair?
  22. Is that a good thing(polyphasered) if not how easy to upgrade or change back to org. Don't know much about these speakers other than what I'm readingI'm looking to get a pr of Khorns, want a nice clean pr, within 6-700 miles of Knoxville, Tn. How bout the starting price of $2500.00 Thx
  23. Appreaciate, the feedback. I, was leaning towards these because 1 owner with org boxes & quote"mint" cond. I've never even heard these , have JBL l200's in the 70's& now have Dalquist DQ-10's & Maggie Mg111. I, remember seeing literature & reviews 30 yrs ago & I, like the way they looked. If, anyone has read the write up about them, what do you thinks about the changes? Thx I mean the changes done to those listed on ebay for $2500.00
