  1. Hardly any. I just got the XTIs about a year ago. The "best" amp that I hooked up was an SAE MKII, 1975 vintage. On HF. The SAE didn't interface well with the active xover and had audible noise. Don Honk if you love Horns Hi Don.........How do you have your XTI's set up? Are you bi-amping with them? If so, how would you compare the XTI's bi-amped using the DSP (delays etc.) vs. using the XTI as just an ordinary 2 channel amp?
  2. Anybody that is familiar with the BFD............maybe you could give some feedback on your experience with this unit.[] The main reason for this post.........I was hoping that somebody could give me some settings that you've found to be beneficial to your subs, room etc. Any responses would be much appreciated!![]
  3. What amp/preamp would you be powering them with?
  4. .......selling everything and getting some headphones instead......much easier. .......this LSD television I bought doesn't have the effect I thought it would have.
  5. It has been determined here at the two-channel forum............that Crown XTI's are the world's finest amp for home/professional use.[] But seriously.......I use XTI 2000's to power my RF-7's. The "bang for the buck" is there for sure IMO...........more than enough power to drive the 7's effectively and satisfies my craving for really rockin' hard but................... The tubes I heard on the RF-7's (VRD's) were without a doubt more refined in many ways.........detail, soundstage, depth, imaging etc. etc.
  6. I had the opportunity to visit SET12's home and listen to his system.........The soundstage, bass and fascinating imaging were qualities I remember most.[]
  7. I would do it that way. As far as the delays..........you may just have to do some experimenting.
  8. As far as my XTI system goes.........I think I'll be ok.........just as long as I don't listen to any more tubes.[] My Peach sure is getting lonely in my second system though............Did I just say that?[]
  9. I was joking as well..............as in my hearing may already be shot!! []
  10. Yeah, a sub is a must in a home theatre. A lot of two-channel guys are "anti-subwoofer" for music..........Like I said, a poor out of tune sub for music will just degrade everything. A good quality sub for music properly tuned, located etc..........can't beat it in my book.[Y]
  11. It's been four days now..........I wish I never went and listened to those *** VRD's.[:'(] Careful there Scott- - it's addictive. Tell me about it!!
  12. If you decide to get the Rotel, I'd be interested to hear your impressions. I really can't see it making a significant difference in sq or power.......but if $400.00 is not a big deal to you than by all means try it........and like one of the other members said, you'll probably not have a problem selling it. Good Luck.[]
  13. I used RG-6 coax cable for a long run to one of my subs. It was something like $30.00 for 100'. It seemed to work fine.......no problems. Any downside to this cable for a sub?
  14. I beleive......from experience.......that a properly tuned sub/subs adds so much to the listening experience. If not done properly, it just ruins everything........which is why some people get discouraged and dismiss it.
  15. ...........So you can tell people how your stereo makes your walls shake? ...........To try and acheive a "Live Sound"? [] ...........To drown out the sound of your speakers with bass from your sub? ...........To make your speakers sound better?[] ...........To annoy your neighbors? ............You just like the sound of deep, chest pounding, back massaging, thunder rolling kick your *** bass? [li] []
  16. Tomorrow I'm gonna try the XTI's bi-amped using the DSP for the first time........should be interesting.[*-)]
  17. It's been four days now..........I wish I never went and listened to those damn VRD's.[:'(]
  18. OK.........Spill the beans........We've all been there!![]
  19. HDNET........all day long on Sundays plays a lot of concerts, seems like a lot of blues. Really cool. MusicHD also does everything from MTV to VH-1 Classic to CMT. They are even starting to play Soundstage performances more and more. Between Rave, HDNET and MusicHD I can get my "live fix" any time of the day.......any day of the week. I just dig anything live. I think sound quality wise.........Peter Frampton at the 2005 Jammy's was the best sounding performance to date. (HDNET) Tribute to the Stratocastor was really cool.
  20. I have Dish Network satellite television that includes the "Rave" channel (Voom networks). This channel plays around the clock concerts in HD/DD. Curious to hear some opinions on how you like the sound quality, etc. "Soundstage" gets a lot of play on this channel. To me it sounds pretty darn good.......especially at low to medium levels........and the applause is tolereable.[] (Coytee)
