how does one calculate room size for optimum listening?? my office is roughly 12'x16'. this is where i listen to music. i am in the process of getting a pair of forte's from a client that doesn't "have room for them". the room they have them in is bigger than my current room. my house is on the market now, there are a lot of options open to me after we sell. i am a residential construction contractor so even if i buy an existing home i have the ability to modify it to make my office a nice place to let the forte's sing. for now however i think i will be able to find space for them!

what the heck do you have to do to la scalas to blow out the woofers? hope no one was killed! the people that did that to those speakers should have to listen to lawrence welk records on my current stereo for eternity as punishment. ok nothing could be that bad... the cabinets are easy to fix if you ask me. it's all the important stuff inside that really matters. better wait on less abused stuff.

try some pinetop perkins or lao tizer it's good piano music and i'm sure it would sound good on your system.

good thing i don't like watching movies or tv this thread makes my head spin i'll get the kids through college then go see what they have decided works best... i recommend getting your news from a trusted source or 10 on the net, listen to loads of good music, have a nice beer or glass of wine now and then while you listen, and when you want to see a movie go to a theater that has klipsch sound and a screen bigger than my house.

i got to listen to these all day yesterday . i was back to do more work and we had spoken last week about me buying them or trading for work/labor. what a pleasure it was listening to these. clean and clear, just right. i will not be able to listen to my "stereo" again. these speakers are one owner forte 1 built 7/89. they are walnut and in perfect condition. they currently flank the baby grand in the living rm of the house i am working on. and appear to have been well loved. my fingers are crossed that i will be able to negotiate a price i will be able to afford as i am currently trying to get my 41 chevy finished for this summer and it is also needing monitary attention. imo i care not so much about the beauty of the boxes as i do the sound comming from them... but...if i have to have walnut forte's in mint condition well who am i to argue thank you all 30+ years now i have lusted after klipsch, could it be my turn? i hope so

you crack me up...get a new pair of speakers and the 1st thing you do is wax them! shoot man if i had the coin to buy some new lascalas the 1st thing i'd do is hook em up and enjoy the music. congrats on the new speakers

i have an oppertunity to purchase a set of forte speakes made in 1989. they are in nice condition, actuall like new. they have the risers and are in good working order. what is a good price for these? i have had friends with lascalas, hereseys, kg4, and cornwalls. i hope if i get these they sound as nice as all the other klipsch speakers i have heard... thank you for your replys r
